  • A Great Condo, with a Caveat.

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second stay in K-301 of Mauna Lani Terrace, but we have stayed in an identical unit in the building before. The location, layout, quality of construction, condition of this unit is excellent, and that is why we have come back and will do so again in the future. The only negative part of our experience in K-301 was the state of the kitchen equipment - below par for the kind of unit we rented and the price we paid: low quality, Walmart-type, pots and pans, and few of them; a hodge-podge of dishes, reminiscent of what we had when we were poor college kids and bought stuff at Goodwill; maybe the answer is that when you have a rental unit you put out whatever is left over, but I can attest to the fact that other cheaper units in Mauna Lani are much better equipped. I do not want to belabor the point; our stay at K-301 was wonderful, and who can argue with the weather on the Big Island when you come from Anchorage in October?"

  • User-friendly!

"This beautifully decorated and truly well-equipped condo has everything: gourmet kitchen, beautiful sunset views from lanai, great shopping close by, and access to the private Mauna Lani Beach Club with its lounge chairs, fabulous snorkeling, and great restaurant with live Grammy-award winning music. I loved that everything we needed was available without having to drive beyond the Mauna Lani Resort! It was a perfect fit for our family of four, including my 90-year-old mom. The owner is a delight to deal with, and we will definitely consider coming back to this property."

  • Awesome Townhome

"We stayed in the Villa for a fantastic week and enjoyed every moment of it. What we loved best about our vacation was that "at-home" feeling. Besides the amount of space we had - over 2000 sq feet for the 3 of us, we loved the fact that we had both levels to ourselves. We don't like living on top nor below another family. We only had neighbors to the side of us and never did we once hear any of them! The layout is amazing with the bedrooms located upstairs while the living space was on the lower level. The gourmet kitchen is large and has everything needed (note to self: No need to pack spices, aluminum foil and plastic wrap in the future). The kitchen had everything imaginable! We particularly enjoyed the Viking Grill on the Lanai and used it frequently. We picked up Steaks, Chicken, and Salad from Costco and supplement it with locally grown fruits for a delicious dinner. Having a washer / drying in the villa was great as we were able to do laundry every few days. Although this was our first time to the Big Island, it won't be our last. In the past, we've vacationed primarily in Maui. But having now spent 2 weeks on the BI, we can honestly say that we enjoy the BI as much, if not more than Maui. We love the serenity, the quaintness and the laid-back lifestyle of the Big Island. We loved the Farmer's Markets particularly for the hard-to-find island fruits like Cherimoya, Jackfruit, and Soursop (which btw, is hard to find on Maui). While the BI is big and driving is required to the beaches, markets and shops (only the Shops at Mauna Lani are within walking distance), we got used to driving to where we needed to get to. We really liked the location of the Mauna Lani Fairways as it allowed us to get to Waikoloa, Waimea, Hilo, Kalapana, and Kona easily via the Hawaii Belt Road or Saddle Road. It was also very close to some of the best golf courses in Hawaii. We purchased a Hawaii Golf Deals Card and used it extensively at the 3 Waikoloa Courses, Hapuna and at Mauna Kea. We had a fantastic time on the Big Island of Hawaii and our accomodations added so much more to our vacation. We wanted a place where we would enjoy hanging out and not just a place to "come back and crash". It's a little piece of heaven right in paradise!"

  • Lap of Luxury

"This was an amazing place to stay. We would absolutely without hesitation recommend this condo. Steve and Karen were great to work with as they were prompt when asked a question and their lovely property was more than comfortable for our family. We used the BBQ, pool, beaches (and one was a black sand and was our favorite)... it really did have it all. I didn't get a chance to golf but the surrounding course made me cry because I didn't bring my clubs.... It looked that good (but it is not cheap). This side of the big island is dry and doesn't have a lot of vegetation but that it makes the landscape and the drive to the condo pretty cool. Rental car is required and nothing you need is really to far away. The property was very clean and quiet and had all the conveniences of home and then some. When we pulled into the resort area off the highway I remember my wife and I looking at each other and both said "WOW"! Do yourself a favor and if this property is available book it. Steve and Karen will look after you from there on in!"
