  • Wonderful unit, excellent location!

"Our family of 4 absolutely loved staying in this unit. Having 3 bedrooms was amazing with 2 teens - 1 boy, 1 girl. The unit is stylish, very clean, extremely well stocked as far as kitchen, linens, towels, beach chairs, snorkel gear, and so on. Totally comfortable and classy. The master bedroom is huge. Having a washer and dryer was a big help, just know that the washer is a little loud and the dryer needs a couple runs per load. The pool is lovely, as are the grounds. The beach club is just beautiful, with great snorkeling very close to shore, paddle boards, classy restaurant. We honestly didn't know where it was, but it is on South Kaniku Drive. We grew very fond of the little supermarket at the Shops and were there most days. Saved a lot of money on restaurants. Do try the vegan/vegetarian place at the Shops (no matter your food preferences). If you happen to be there on July 4, as we were lucky enough to do, go to Turtle Independence Day! Management was very responsive and helpful. The location was great for day trips north/east like Pololu, Waimea, Hamakua Coast, Waipio and even Hilo. Or south to Kailua-Kona and snorkeling at Captain Cook. Highly recommend!!!"

  • Incredibly Welcoming and Comfortable Condo

"Nancy's Fairways Condo is as advertised! Despite the numerous reviews highlighting how well stocked the condo was, I must say I was still impressed with the array of conveniences throughout the condo (from beach equipment to kitchen appliances to spices and BBQ tools to shampoo to laundry detergent to beach towels) - this unit has it all! We (my wife, 8 year old daughter and 10 year old son) stayed for a week over Thanksgiving. It was our first visit to the Big Island and I had a lot of questions - Nancy was a generous resource leading up to the trip, patiently answering my myriad questions (in detail) and calming my (completely unfounded) concerns about the weather. Pro Trip: weather.com forecasts for Kohala are completely inaccurate; a week ahead of the trip, they showed 90-100% chance of rain all day/every day - it literally did not rain a drop the entire time we were there (except maybe late at night when we were asleep). The location is perfect, easy access to Foodland (the small/boutiquish grocery story just up the street from the condo), the Fairmont Orchid (where we did happy hour most nights and ran along the beach every day - life is about balance folks), restaurants, golf courses, Hapuna/Mauna Kea beaches (for boogie boarding), the owners beach (for lounging and snorkeling - if you like to snorkel, try the beach at the Fairmont as well, which you can access easily) - can't say enough about this beach, it is the perfect place to spend a day with the kids. For those of you who, like me before this, have always stayed at resorts and are considering renting a condo instead, there are pros and cons of each - but from a space, convenience, value perspective, the condo wins hands down; the only downside in my mind is maid service and the lack of a "pool scene" (there is a nice pool/hot tub at the Fairways, just not the same vibe as you would get at a resort with pool service), but for this condo in particular, the easy access to the Fairmont for resort amenities and the scene at the owner's beach definitely scratched that itch for us. I highly recommend this unit and agree with all of the great things other reviewers have said about it and Nancy. We would definitely stay here again on future trips."

  • A Perfect Stay in Paradise

"A beautiful condo in a heavenly location with more than you ever need! A spacious and comfortable home in a charming resort surrounded by gorgeous trees and flowers. The master bath has a soaking tub that will ease the jet lag out of you right away (at least that was my first order of business). Kitchen full of appliances and necessities, a grill outside, TVs (if you somehow get tired of the views) and a fitness center, outdoor pool, and hot tub just steps away. A very short drive, or a slightly longer and more scenic walk, to a beach with great snorkeling and a lovely restaurant. Lots of helpful info and guidebooks from the owners with recommendations of all sorts of different activities all over the island - we came without a really solid plan of what we wanted to do and quickly got plenty of ideas (visited Pololu Valley, took a Manta Ray Snorkel Cruise). Shops and restaurants nearby, so whether you want to relax by the pool and grill some fresh fish or snorkel and visit a volcano this condo is an excellent place to call home for your trip. We had a truly wonderful time!"

  • Great place

"We had a great time at this unit. We stayed in another one last year and we enjoyed this one more. The backyard has an amazing view of the golf course and was very private, which was nice for our 2 little ones to play outside. The company was great to work with and we hope to stay in this unit next year! Thank you for a great vacation!"
