  • Fabulous vacation in a perfect House

"We have been visiting Mauna Lani as a family for 25 years, always staying at the hotel. This year we had our two adult children each bring a few friends and decided to rent this property, and it was absolutely the right decision. The owner Kim made everything easy for us, and the on-site managers Judy and Ken made sure that you had everything that you needed. Let me stress that I mean everything - beach towels, sunscreen, bicycles, all household necessities - the only things you had to provide were food and beverage. Add in state-of-the-art television with a seemingly endless library of movies and there is something for everyone to do, even when the sun doesn't shine. But then, the sun is always out and the pool and golf course/mountain views are spectacular. As a quick heads-up, we chose to stock the house with food and snacks from Costco near the airport, but quickly found that the food and beverage prices at the Foodland at the Mauna Lani were very competitive which makes things even easier. Mahalo to Kim and everyone who made this a dream vacation!"

  • Everything you hope for in a great vacation rental

"Our family had a great time staying in this unit. It had all the comforts of home as well as lots of extra items to take advantage of while you are on the island- beach chairs, coolers, umbrellas, beach towels, snorkel gear, rafts and much more. The owner and property manager are very professional to deal with and everything about the place is as advertised. I would recommend this unit to anyone considering a stay on the Big Island."

  • Live like the really rich people!

"Gorgeous new home tastefully decorated complete with first class appliances, soft towels, spices and even the shampoo and soap. Nice snorkeling gear and bicycles (need air in tires). We ate at the lanai table without bug problems. Surf, much heavier than usual, made the major beaches very difficult to approach but the two little beaches (Beach Club and Orchid Resort) were so protected that toddlers could swim. The nice surprise was the coral just outside this tiny easy entry beach teeming with reef fish... Snorkeling equal or better than any I've seen in all the islands. Residents with key cards (us) can park within 150 yards. The free show at the little plaza was surprisingly good...professional as most luau shows The Foodland should be used only for emergencies. Drive 5 miles east to Waikaloa Village or stock up in Kailua. Costco has the best fresh fish plus great prices. Safeway is OK."

  • Awesome Launching Pad for Young Family

"Paul's townhouse was the perfect launching pad for adventures on the Big Island for our young family. I was attending a seminar at the Fairmont Orchid for the first 4 days of the trip and we felt that we got far better value for our money at this unit than a room at the hotel yet was close enough I could walk there in 10 mins. The unit was as advertised. The kitchen was well stocked and having in suite washer dryer meant we didn't spend our vacation at the laundromat ;-P Our kids (aged 2 & 4) loved the pool at The Fairways and they have a nice shallow toddler section. It was an easy walk to the beach at the Fairmont- the kids loved seeing the goats and feral kitties along the way. The unit was equipped with boogie boards, coolers, and all the sand toys we needed. The closest beach is perfect for little ones yet has great snorkelling. We swam with green sea turtles almost on a daily basis! There are bathrooms in close proximity and if you need a mai tai or a latte- all the options are right there. Overall we would highly recommend Paul's unit to anyone but especially if you want to have a relaxing vacation with kids. Mahalo!!!"
