  • What a GEM!

"This beautifully appointed condo looks out over the 15th hole (one of the prettiest in the world) to a gorgeous ocean view. We enjoyed sitting out on the lanai nightly to watch the beautiful sunsets. We've been here several times before and continue to enjoy this condo's combination of quiet surroundings with wonderful views and a central location to great snorkeling. The condo is well maintained and spotless. We appreciated the gift basket and the closet full of beach equipment. We love having breakfast on the lanai as each new day arrives. A previous reviewer mentioned the 'old' TVs. The owner has upgraded the living room TV to an HDTV digital monitor. We found the owners very responsive to any needs that arose during our stay."

  • Beautiful home makes for the perfect island getaway

"We have stayed on the Big Island for many years and always look forward to coming back. This was our first time staying in the Mauna Lani Resort area and we were very pleased. The home is walking distance from the Fairmont Orchid with a fantastic beach, and just a short drive to the private beach club. We actually enjoyed the Fairmont beach more than the beach club, although both are great beaches. The home is incredibly well stocked. They even have a crock pot and rice cooker! And they had birthday candles for my birthday cake. Not something I would ever expect in a rental home but a very nice touch. And there was a beautiful birthday cake waiting for me on my arrival from the owners. Another very nice touch. The home is beautiful, and in very good condition. The beds are comfortable and the linens and pillows are all very high quality. The lanai is the perfect place to relax and have all of your home cooked meals. It's very private with a nice view. I look forward to coming back to the island and staying in this home again in the near future. Thank your for making our stay on the island so amazing!"

  • Wonderful Mauna Lani Palm Villas rental -- steps to the pool

"Our family (including two parents, two young kids, and a grandparent) was wowed by this beautiful ground floor condo at Mauna Lani Palm Villas. We were so glad to have this place to call "home" when we arrived, driving here from Kona Airport, exhausted by our 14-hour journey from New England. It is very clean and comfortable, and has air-conditioning for those hot afternoons! The unit has 3 BR, 2 BA, very well laid out. It was so convenient to have a washer-dryer in unit, for use after trips to the beach and pool. The lanai/patio adjacent to the golf course, was a favourite place to gather in the early mornings to eat breakfast and watch the sunrise. The garden is beautiful and features lush green tropical foliage, coconut palm trees and flowering plants. We saw several geckos and one huge praying mantis when we were there! The kids enjoyed playing in the garden, and in the huge driveway in front of the house. The unit is steps to the pool and the kids really enjoyed walking over to play in the pool. We also drove to the Mauna Lani Beach Club, and enjoyed swimming in the protected cove. It's great to be able to park at the "owner's/renter's" lot, which is so close to the beach. It's only a 10-15 minute drive to Mauna Kea beach, arguably one of the most beautiful, and relatively secluded beaches in the world! The boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella in the garage, so generously provided by the owners, were wonderful to use on our trips to the famous Kohala coast beaches. We drove to the Hilton Waikoloa, Kawaihae, Hawi, Keokea beach park, Pololu Valley lookout, Waipio valley, and we would have loved to have gone snorkeling at Kua Bay/Captain Cook (but we simply didn't have the time for that). We felt lucky to have called this rental "home" in this magical place on earth, and felt sad to have to leave. We would certainly rent this unit again if/when we return to the Kohala coast of the Big Island."
