  • Beautiful beach, spacious house, perfect stay

"This house was great for our stay and well equipped. The air condition worked great for warm days and the bedrooms were spacious and clean. Beach access is as good as it gets with fantastic snorkeling out the front door. No complaints at all and would stay here again. The current construction next door wasn't a big deal with only some minor hammering and occasional sawing. For the price reduction they're currently offering due to the construction you can't beat this price and location!"

  • Lovely and Easy

"We live on the Big Island and wanted to 'run away' to the dry side and be near the ocean for my Birthday. We had a few close friends and family come celebrate with us. We have an almost 4 year old daughter and there were 6 overnighters at the max, including her (she slept in bed with us). The master bed was more than big enough to fit us 3, my parents thoroughly enjoyed their room on the opposite end of the house with its own lovely bathroom and spacious doors opening onto the deck. My BFF could have slept downstairs on the lovely, airy bed, or on the pull-out couch. There were some mosquitos, not bad, and we did find a scorpion at one point in the carport (they aren't highly poisonous here, rather like a bee sting), so she opted for the pull out bed upstairs. The deck was a delight, huge in front and wrapping all the way around. The interior was spacious and airy. We would open the house up in the mornings from 7am until about 1 pm, then it was time for the very effective A/C. Come 6pm we could open it all up again and be very comfortable. The downstairs is a lovely, cool concrete area with an outdoor shower and some grassy landscaping at well appointed spots. There is a huge mango tree out front that was raining down fresh, sweet mangoes during our stay. The TV is hidden inside behind a gorgeous canvassed double photo of the slopes of Mauna Kea. The invection stove top was rather a pain to use. Other appliances were simple enough - a blender, toaster oven, coffee grinder, coffee maker, foreman grill, BBQ, oven, bar sink, dishwasher, garbage disposal, washer/drier, dvd player, cable, internet, netflix, trash service A couple minor things I would change: cleaner floors - sounds odd maybe, but in Hawaii we take our shoes off inside and I dislike the feeling of grit and grime on my feet. My feet were black after walking around for a few hours inside. I couldn't find a good broom to sweep with, only a push broom that kept dropping lots of fine dusty dirt, and a shark upright vacuume that wasn't much use. Several of the screen doors didn't function well. The large window in the master bath should have some etching or covering for when showering. The towel hooks shaped as horned animals were awesome, but the sharp, pointy beaks/horns scared the heck out of me a few times as they are at eye level with our 4 year old. Marla and Debbie were very easy to work with and accommodating. The beaches were lovely and not over populated."

  • Great place to stay!

"We stayed in Bailey's apartment for 8 nights. It is well appointed, has everything we needed, and is spacious for 2 people. Puako is very beautiful and peaceful, and we loved being able to walk to the beach. Bailey is very helpful, available if needed, yet we had privacy. We enjoyed the fresh fruit bowl, delicious smoked fish, and kitchen staples. Having visited the big island several times, we found new ideas of places to explore in his handy notebook. We look forward to a return visit."

  • Ocean Front Estate with **Private Pool** and Exclusive Puako Beach Frontage

"We loved our time at this beautiful home in an amazing setting! Since you will not find a restaurant with a better ocean view than this home provides we made a delicious meal with freshly caught fish (that we purchased at Da Fish House in Kawaihae -about 10 min. away) each evening. Each night we watched a lovely sunset with the silhouette of palm trees and the ocean waves crashing on the reef. We LOVED getting up to morning coffee and scanning the horizon for whales or ones much closer! During the day we explored the tide pools in front of the house and walked up a few houses to see the turtles basking in the sun. For excursions, we explored nearby petroglyphs after walking through the Fairmont Orchid grounds, we snorkeled at Beach 69 and walked along Hapuna and Mauna Kea beaches. We hiked to Pololu Valley, we also hiked to Kiholo Bay all of which are within a 20-40 minute drive. We also went to 2 historical sites - Lapakahi and Pu'ukohola Heiau- both nearby as well. Kona is only 25 minutes away, Waimea is maybe 20 min. away and has shopping, restaurants, and a delicious bakery, The house is perfect for 2 or maybe even 3 couples. The house is absolutely gorgeous - a lovely floor plan; privacy for everyone and with many places to gather for meals, conversation, etc. both inside and outside on the covered lanai. The location of the house on Puako Beach Drive is one of the best and the frontage along the ocean is one of the largest yet most private due to the wonderful landscaping throughout the property. We wish we never had to leave and can't wait to return. We have stayed at many upscale properties in many locations but this one felt very special to us. Thank you for sharing your home."
