  • excellent location

"This condo is in an excellent location wrt places we wanted to frequent within Waikoloa. It has direct access to the beach, coastal path, close proximity to stores and restaurants. It is luxuriously spacious for our family of 4 and beautifully appointed. thank you David!"

  • Great Place!

"This condominium in Kolea, was great! It has two bedrooms with two very spacious bathrooms. Each bathroom had a tub, and the master had a separate tub and shower. The open kitchen design was nice for two reasons: one, you could converse with others who were siting at the dining table, couch our resting on the patio—that was accessed by sliding doors that opened completely; two, you had a view of the outside. A short walk took you to the pool area, which we walked through everyday to access the beach, where we swam in the ocean everyday. At the end of the beach (about a 5 minute walk) was Lava Lava, a restaurant on the beach where you could get drinks and good food. We had fish tacos and pina coladas! The place is also relatively centrally located. It's about 20 minutes from the airport, 25 minute drive to Waimea—where there is a great restaurant, Merrimans—and a 30 minute drive to Umekes in Kailua-Kona. If you like Poke, Umekes is the place to go. A 3 minute drive or 10 minute walk gets you to a shopping mall that has a great grocery store, starbucks, some restaurants, and a great home-made ice cream place. There were only a few minor items that would have made this place even better: a new coffee maker (the current one is a little dilapidated), an electric water kettle, and a vacuum that had a "hardwood floor attachment". Bottom line! We would stay there again."

  • Perfect Location

"This condo is not only situated very nicely within Kolea with a view and quick access to A Bay, but Kolea is nestled among the conveniences of Waikoloa. The unit was perfectly outfitted and the new furnishings well-chosen. We took advantage of the gourmet market in the Queen's Shops and used the outdoor kitchen for a few dinners. We were glad to have use of the beach towels, boogie boards, and a guide book to the island. We appreciated that this unit is air conditioned, most Hawaii condos are not. The Nest was a little quirky and the owners' recommended setting a little on the warm side for us (it was warm enough that even the locals were complaining about the higher than normal temperatures) but we learned that keeping bedroom doors open, fans running and the doors to the kitchen pantry open (ductwork runs through so it's cool in there) helped keep the cooler air circulating. The pool area was very nice and the open air workout room was frequently in use. Just beyond the pool is A Bay which is outfitted with lounge chairs, equipment rentals, a snack shack, and is where you can access boats for one outfitter's excursions. While the water was too rough for snorkeling other places, A Bay remained a great easy place to be in the water. If we plan another trip to the Big Island, we would definitely look to book this again. The owners are prompt to respond and were timely and thorough with all the information we needed."
