  • Beautiful Condo

"It exceeded our expectations! It was beautiful, clean and stocked with some basic essentials. Only negative is the upstairs neighbors need to be told in advance that they should not jump around. We were woken up at 6am every day!! And all night long their kids jumped around. That's why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5."

  • Fantastic property...Great location, spacious, nice decor, and very clean.

"We loved everything about this property. It is conveniently located in Waikoloa Village, only a few minutes walk to both Queens Maketplace and Kings Shops, both of which have numerous restaurants and retail stores. A-Beach is only about a ten minute walk. Hapuna beach (one of the best in Hawaii) is about a 10 minute drive. The unit is extremely clean, and very well stocked with both cooking supplies and beach gear. The lanai is spacious, has a gas barbecue grill, and is facing in a direction which enables use all day. It has a view over the petroglyph trail and a nearby lake. There's also a very nice pool and jacuzzi near the unit. A highlight of our trip was seeing the active lava flow at Kilauea. To see this, from Hilo, drive to the end of the Pahao Bypass Road in Kalapana. At the end of the road, the County government has set up parking and security, specifically for the lava viewing. From where you park, it's about a 4.5 mile hike down a gravel path to where the lava flow meets the road, then falls into the ocean. At the time we were there, there were literally rivers of flowing lava that you can approach as close as you feel comfortable. There are bikes one can rent at the parking lot for $10/hour. With kids, it took us about 1.5 hours to walk each way. By bike, it's probably 30 to 45 minutes. We arrived at the parking lot around 4:30pm, so that we could make it to the lava flow before sunset. Bring water and flashlight (for the walk back). If needed, there are portable restrooms halfway, as well as some residents selling cold beverages along the path. We opted to stay in Hilo overnight, given the required logistics of viewing the lava flow at night. I'm providing all of these details, as I wasn't able to find these details easily and thought I'd save others the effort of researching this. Finally, I thought it worth highlighting that Roger, the owner, was extremely responsive to all of my enquiries, generally responding within a minute or two. Overall, staying at this property was a great experience. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if visiting the big island."

  • Re-Energized

"Like most all readers of this review, we work so hard year round and desperately needed this two week time to rest, relax, re-connect, shut the world out and rejuvenate. We were so pleased with our stay, we were able to accomplish all these things. Our ambitions were small, sleep, beach and paddle board during the day, come back and have some lunch a couple hours at the pool shower, dinner, martini...repeat!! Heck we even binge watched Game of Thrones which all of our friends said we should watch!!! The location was perfect we could walk virtually everywhere, bed was comfortable, Dan and Marion attentive. We intend to return. Strongly consider this property if looking Steve and Sandy"

  • Wonderful Vacation Home in Paradise

"My wife and two children thoroughly enjoyed our time at Don & Cheryl's immaculate villa. It was a completely different and much better experience than staying in a cramped room at the nearby Hilton or Marriott, which we've done in the past. The home is elegantly finished with top-end appliances and furniture that made us feel comfortable; like being at home, not a hotel. We especially enjoyed grilling and dining in the evenings on the lanai with the gorgeous Hawaii sunset as the backdrop. The only bad part of our vacation staying at the villa was having to leave. My wife already wants to go back! I highly recommend this property to anyone considering staying in the area."
