  • Delightful Stay

"I had a delightful stay at this unit. It's as lovely as it appears in the photos and is stocked with just about everything guests could want to enjoy their stays. The location is the best of both worlds. On the one hand it has the convenience of being just a 5 minute walk to two shopping centers with a grocery store, restaurants, and numerous other shops, yet the Fairways Village grounds themselves are very peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. The location also is just a short walk or drive to A-Bay and about a 10-minute drive to what I think are the two best beaches on the Big Island--Hapuna and Muana Kea. I also appreciated the top-of-the line equipment in the fitness center and also top-of-line Weber barbuques very close to the unit. Finally, Ed, the rental agent, always was very helpful and responsive and a pleasure to deal with. I've visited the Big Island more than a half-dozen times and I highly recommend this unit."

  • Return trip

"This was our second vacation at Hula Moon and it was as wonderful as the first. There were even some upgrades since our last trip. After a rigorous set of flights to Kona, we both said the same thing as we walked in the door - "We're home". That is about the highest compliment you can give to Hula Moon. It feels like home. Kim provides everything you need to enjoy your time in Paradise. All of the amenities are top notch. The kitchen is well appointed and supplied. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms also well appointed even with a starter pack of supplies. We used many of the "toys" supplied like the boogie boards, and beach chairs. A daily morning swim in the pool was great as was the nightly walk to A-Bay beach for sunset. We enjoyed snorkeling at A-Bay but the water was a bit cloudy, we also snorkeled at Beach 69 and at Mauna Lani which was outstanding. The trade winds made golf a challenge but we pretty much had the Kings Course to ourselves, a real private country club. For groceries we found the ABC store at Queens Marketplace had the best veggies, Safeway in Kona (get a Safeway member discount card) for general stuff and the KTA store in Waikoloa Village for seafood and poke. To top off the whole trip, the whales put on a daily show. We watched from A-Bay or the Hilton many afternoons but also went up to Kawaihae at Pu'ukohala Heiau National Historic site (free) to whale watch. Kim is great to work with and she checked up on us a couple of times during our long stay. Hula Moon is so convenient to everything you may need within walking distance. We ate most meals at "home" and used the grill extensively but had special dinners at KPC in the Hilton and Merriman's at Waimea. Mahalo Kim, can hardly wait to return."

  • My Favorite Place on the Island

"We put 700 miles on the rental car. We saw incredible waterfalls, beaches and volcanoes. The lanai you see in the picture was my favorite spot of them all. Coffee in the morning and cold beer in the afternoon/evening while watching the whales. Perfect lodging for a family of 4 . We made great use of the snorkel equipment, beach chairs and towels. Unit 15B was the envy of everyone walking by on the path which leads to Beach 49. Jeff was the consummate host. Easy to contact and very attentive."

  • Beautiful condo in Waikoloa

"This condo was clean, comfortable and well equipped for our family. It holds every beach accessorie you need as well as household items. We were happy with out stay and would come again. Wonderfully located. Only subtracting a star due to the guest bathroom light which is more like a strobe light (I assume it needs replacing) and being able to hear the neighbors upstairs. This never kept us up however. We would recommend this unit to anyone looking good for a comfortable stay on the big island. Mahalo!"
