  • THIS VILLA HAS IT ALL

"We rented this Villa August 8-15, 2016 As so many reviewers have written, this villa has it all. The kitchen is stocked with every conceivable small appliance, gadget, pot, cookware, cup, glass, dish, etc. All the rooms are large with the exception of the second bedroom which is still adequate. Because of it's size, there is no dresser in the second bedroom, but the Blackburns cleverly have installed hanging canvas shelf organizers for clothing and shoes. The only items not supplied were bar soap for the showers and Kleenex. All of the furnishings are upscale and the beds are very comfortable. The air conditioning worked great which is needed on the Big Island in August. The view from the lanai is gorgeous, overlooking the pool, King’s Lake and King’s Shops. One evening we watched a fireworks display from the lanai. My husband loved the Bar-B-Que area. There are 6 Weber grills and a facet and sink. All needed Bar-B-Que supplies were located in one of the kitchen drawers. The location of this unit could not have been better. Close to the pool, grill and even the elevator. There is an assigned parking spot which is just steps away from the elevator. A tip for great shave ice is the Original Big Island Shave Ice truck which is about 18 minutes north, located next to the Blue Dragon Restaurant in Kawaihae. A large Shave Ice is just $4.00. They also have fabulous ice cream sundaes."

  • Great place for large ohana

"We had a great family trip while staying at this lovely condo. Our group included 5 adults and a toddler. We were able to stay for 9 days in paradise in early July 2016. Upon entering the condo we were blown away by the floor plan and the updated amenities that were provided. The master bedroom/bathroom is huge and the bed was very comfy. We had the two twins converted into a king, which was spacious, and the queen room was nice. The condo was very clean and neat. They also provide a great assortment of items in the kitchen and a ton of things to use at the beach. Air conditioning worked great. We ate almost every meal on the patio which had 6 chairs. When traveling with a toddler we thought that it was great that they had a pack-n-play that we could use, a baby gate for the stairs, and a chair that a toddler can use (not a high chair, but a seat with a tray that you can put onto a chair. The only issue that our toddler ran into was that the living room is down two steps from the kitchen area, which could provide a falling hazard, but mitigated through a few lessons on going up and down stairs. Located right next to the pool, which is hardly used (large pool and an attached baby pool). Also by the pool are two gas BBQ's that are open for use. We never had a problem snagging one. New washer and dryer were great and were a great help since this reduced the number of clothes that we had to bring (thus reducing baggage charges). The unit has one assigned parking spot and if you have another vehicle (like we did) you have to park in a non reserved spot. We had no problem at all finding a spot. Close to A' Beach (would drive there definitely, long walk). Also close to the Hilton, but not the most stroller friendly location. Owner was very prompt in answering our questions and provided us with lots of information on places to go and eat on the island. Booking process was painless and easy to do. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a well priced condo to meet the needs of a large family."

  • Best deal in Waikoloa!

"We've had an AWESOME stay! Beautiful property with a great pool, 6 high end gas grills, decent workout facility, lovely condo and super easy to work with owner. Plenty of beach gear and everything you need to cook, rest and relax. It's a second floor unit in a 3 story complex but other guests were quiet and conscientious. Short walk to shops, restaurant and the beach. The owner was most accommodating. We'll book this property without doubt if we are blessed to return to the Big Island."

  • Location, Quiet, Comfortable

"My husband and I came to the big island to attend a wedding and have a vacation. We stayed 9 nights and would have stayed longer if we could. This condo was an excellent place to stay. Very close to Kings & Queen shops, Lava Lava Beach club, Tropics Ale house all of which you can walk to if it isn't too hot. A short drive takes you to beautiful Hapuna Beach and other beautiful beaches in the area. Condo has well equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals (we only cooked breakfast there). Loved having the cooler for trips to the beach and the beach chairs and towels were great. Bed is comfortable as well as living room furniture (I fell asleep in the chair one evening). Loved using the overhead fans as well as the air conditioner when needed to keep the place cool. Lanai would have been used more often but it was just too hot when we were there. We did enjoy it in the evening to watch the sunset. We were amazed at how peaceful and quiet it is at The Shores. Simon is great to work with and very responsive. If we come back to the Big Island we would stay here again."
