  • Pleasantly surprised!

"We have stayed multiple times at the Fairway Villas in various units, but enjoyed the location and amenities of this particular unit. We booked at least nine months in advance and were pleasantly surprised when we walked in the door two weeks ago. After reading the note left next to the welcoming box of cookies, it was apparent this condo had new owners who did a complete remodel. The unit was freshly painted, had new carpet and furnishings, and updated, clean decor. Even the kitchen, with a new refrigerator and dishwasher, looked more inviting. While cooking we realized almost everything was brand new and amply supplied with quality items. We have rented VRBO places all over and this is the first time the owners had a lettuce spinner! We used it every night! Our only minor complaint would be the minimal amount of beach items. Three beach chairs and a boogie board were in the closet. Luckily we had brought our own ice chest and snorkeling gear then purchased grass mats. It would be very nice if an umbrella was provided since these are impossible to bring on an airplane. Overall it was a fantastic two week stay! The weather was perfect and the condo very comfortable and invitingly! We would love to book again for next year when the online calendar opens up for November. Thank you for a lovely home to enjoy in Waikaloa."

  • Quiet, great location

"This is a cute condo in a great location near the entrance of Waikoloa. Kitchen was nicely stocked and the lanai is spacious with out door BBQ. So many great beaches nearby and only 30 min to Kona. There are many beach amenities...although the snorkle gear and boogie boards are quite old, one of the boards is falling apart, so expect to rent those items if you are wanting to do that but the beach chairs, umbrella and cooler were great. Another bit of advice if staying out at Waikoloa, buy groceries in Kona..the grocery store near the condo is more overpriced than anything I've seen on the islands. We would definitely stay again!"

  • Well-appointed unit in a great location

"This is our third stay in 3 years at the Vista Waikoloa complex. We love the location - across the street from A-Bay and walking distance to the shops. There is a lovely pool, you don't hear or see your neighbors, it's quiet, and it's good value for the area. We have stayed in a different unit each time we've been here, and this unit definitely has been the nicest furnished and has the best equipped kitchen. It has a contemporary feel without too much of the uncomfortable rattan furniture you find at so many places. It was sparkling clean and nicely updated. The patio furniture was comfortable, there were lots of towels, and I appreciated the variety of pillows to choose from. I hate limp, squishy pillows! There were two things that were less-than-perfect for me. The bed in the master is very hard. I like a firm bed, but this one was too firm for my taste. There also is some road noise since this unit is at the front of the building. We have stayed in D building in the past, and prefer the quiet of the golf course side and the lovely sunrises over Mauna Kea. The road noise isn't terrible, but since I'm a light sleeper, it did wake me up on occasion. Overall, this is a wonderful unit, and we would probably stay here again even with the road noise and firm bed!"
