  • Beautiful Sunsets in a Gorgeous Condo

"My husband, daughter and I stayed in Halii Kai 12 b for 9 nights over the New Year’s holiday. It was exactly as advertised: clean, well provisioned, with a spectacular view of sunset and whales! They even have the martini glasses and shaker to make sunset martinis! What they didn’t tell us was that in winter you can step out on the grass and watch sunrise too!! The furnishings are upscale and the kitchen has lovely pots, pans and appliances. We have stayed at Halii Kai before and so were a bit concerned that since the b units have no windows on the sides, it would be like staying in a cave. The orientation of this unit allows light in all day long. The only draw back of that is it is a bit too hot to sit on the lanai in the afternoon because the sun shines directly on you and there is no shade. Since the amazing oceanfront Halii Kai pool is just steps away, this is an easy problem to overcome. I only have two recommendations to make this unit better. We would have loved to have a bbq on the lanai as did all of the other units in this building. The grill at the pool is often busy, so it can be challenging to time a meal. Also, we had asked that the two twins in the second bedroom be converted to a king. This was done without the proper bolster so the crack between the 2 twin mattresses was very obvious and quite uncomfortable for our daughter. The management suggested I use some extra bedding to fill in the crack and this helped a bit. If they get the proper kit for changing the twins into a king then, I would recommend this unit for 2 couples traveling together; otherwise it is best for a couple and two singles. Overall, these two issues are far out weighed by benefits of this unit’s amenities from bathrobes and soft bath towels, to the well stocked kitchen and pantry with leftover basics from previous guests to its location very close to the Halii Kai pool complex and the ability to sip martinis while watching the sun set into the ocean!"

  • Excellent location, incredible owners

"This was our first trip to the Big Island. The condo is in an ideal location for those who do not want to be in the busy city of Kailua-Kona. The condo is exactly as shown in the photos. Very comfortable and cozy and very quiet at night(and even during the day). The condo is within a short walk to both the Kings Shops and the Queens Marketplace. You can hear the music from the free shows at the Kings Shops while sitting on the lanai (don't worry, it isn't loud and it is finished by 9 PM). Some of the best beaches on the island are within a 15 minute drive from the condo. Our personal favourite is the beach at Mauna Kea and if you have little ones, I would highly recommend it as the shoreline is shallow and the surf was nearly non-existent. You just have to get there early as only so many car are allowed into the free parking lot for the beach. Nick and Anna were excellent to deal with. I can see why their condo is booked most of the time. They quickly responded to any questions, even the ones not related to the condo itself! They provided excellent information on what to do and see. Their onsite management was easy to reach and quickly had the broken hot water heater fixed the same day we reported it. Nick also followed up by email the following day to ensure it had been repaired. I highly recommend heading to the Hilton to see the entire property. It is beautiful. But expect to take at least 1/2 day to see it all, and the best part is, its free! We enjoyed a nice romantic evening out at the Three Fat Pigs restaurant in the Kings Shops. The staff was excellent, service was great and the food was incredible. I highly recommend the manta ray night snorkel trip if you don't mind being in the water at night. It was an amazing experience and I something I will never forget. Also a trip to the volcano is a must. The first time we went, it was pouring rain but the stem vents were performing, however you couldn't see the crater. The 2nd time we went, it was clear and the steam vents were non existent and the crater was amazing. If you are an avid golfer, this is the ideal location being right on a golf course. So bring your clubs! When we return to the Big Island, we will definitely rent this condo again if it is available. Guess we will just have to plan way ahead!"

  • Vacation Paradise!!!

"We had such a fabulous time at Hali'i Kai 5c..let me start by saying the condo is absolutely beautiful. The owners have gone out of their way to make the condo feel elegant and relaxing. Truly it is a home away from home! And the complex had so many fun things to do which kept us busy the entire trip. From the beautiful pool, to the fitness area as well as the tennis courts, there was never a boring moment. On top of all that, the owners of this unit have thought of everything possible to make the vacation perfect for renters. They supply plenty of snorkel gear, beach toys, chairs, tennis rackets, tennis balls, life jackets, sunscreen..really anything you could think of they have made sure to provide it for you. We had our two young daughters with us (ages 4 &1) and the space was just perfect for our family. Our only regret was that we wereyable to use the golf discount since we didn't have a babysitter, that is such an awesome benefit. I would not hesitate to recommend this vacation rental to everyone I know. We have already booked for next year!!"

  • Big Isle

"A very relaxing and peaceful get-a-way to the west side of the island. A pleasant and wonderful place to stay. Beautiful 2bed/2bath condo that was well equipped with everything we needed. Barbecue grill was close by and easy to use. Very lucky to stay there. Thank you!"
