  • August trip to Hawaii

"Thank you Pam. It was a wonderful experience.....we arrived to find our "home away from home" perfect. It really felt like a home instead of a "standard condo" or hotel room.... It was clean, bright and comforting for all of us. The boys loved their room ("their private area") and fun times at the pool...The lunches ordered at the grill were great--fish and burgers. There were lots of water activity items for their use , so we didn't have to bring our own or purchase some. We enjoyed sitting on the lanai for sunsets and early mornings for quiet times with our view of the golf course and even the ocean too.... We made many memories at all the nearby beaches and the trip to volcano to see the lava flowing. We look forward to returning in the future....."

  • Delightful Stay

"I had a delightful stay at this unit. It's as lovely as it appears in the photos and is stocked with just about everything guests could want to enjoy their stays. The location is the best of both worlds. On the one hand it has the convenience of being just a 5 minute walk to two shopping centers with a grocery store, restaurants, and numerous other shops, yet the Fairways Village grounds themselves are very peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. The location also is just a short walk or drive to A-Bay and about a 10-minute drive to what I think are the two best beaches on the Big Island--Hapuna and Muana Kea. I also appreciated the top-of-the line equipment in the fitness center and also top-of-line Weber barbuques very close to the unit. Finally, Ed, the rental agent, always was very helpful and responsive and a pleasure to deal with. I've visited the Big Island more than a half-dozen times and I highly recommend this unit."

  • THIS VILLA HAS IT ALL

"We rented this Villa August 8-15, 2016 As so many reviewers have written, this villa has it all. The kitchen is stocked with every conceivable small appliance, gadget, pot, cookware, cup, glass, dish, etc. All the rooms are large with the exception of the second bedroom which is still adequate. Because of it's size, there is no dresser in the second bedroom, but the Blackburns cleverly have installed hanging canvas shelf organizers for clothing and shoes. The only items not supplied were bar soap for the showers and Kleenex. All of the furnishings are upscale and the beds are very comfortable. The air conditioning worked great which is needed on the Big Island in August. The view from the lanai is gorgeous, overlooking the pool, King’s Lake and King’s Shops. One evening we watched a fireworks display from the lanai. My husband loved the Bar-B-Que area. There are 6 Weber grills and a facet and sink. All needed Bar-B-Que supplies were located in one of the kitchen drawers. The location of this unit could not have been better. Close to the pool, grill and even the elevator. There is an assigned parking spot which is just steps away from the elevator. A tip for great shave ice is the Original Big Island Shave Ice truck which is about 18 minutes north, located next to the Blue Dragon Restaurant in Kawaihae. A large Shave Ice is just $4.00. They also have fabulous ice cream sundaes."

  • Surprisingly perfect location! Loved the view every morning.

"Great location. Beautiful home with a nice layout. Easily accommodates a party of six with spacious rooms and bathrooms situated for each quest. The only reccommendation I would have to the owner is to have your beach equipment checked frequently, and replaced. The umbrella was broken, and some of the snorkeling gear had cracks in the mask making them unusable. The one thing I enjoyed most was the quiet mornings sitting on the balcony drinking coffee watching whales in the distance. My husband and I were lucky enough to see two whales jump completely out off the water from our seats- Awesome!"
