"We enjoyed the Waikoloa Colony Villa for two weeks (Jan-Feb) and can highly recommend it to families (ours included grandparents, kids and grandkids, 8 and 11 years). This is a gated, secure, super quiet, friendly neighbourhood with sunny, breezy days, and cool nights. It is ideally located north of Kailua Kona traffic and VOG, a central hub for excursions to all parts of the Big Island. We planned many day trips to Volcano, Hilo, Hawi and Kona, with alternate days relaxing on the A Bay beach, swimming, snorkelling, turtle and whale-watching. There are beach toys, umbrella and chairs for 5, and of course, the surprisingly cool pool for refreshing dips after the day's activities.
We also enjoyed the local Queens Marketplace with special events, such as Asian Fest, the charming Hula performance on Monday, Island Gourmet for small supplies of toilet paper and drinks, Ocean Sports for whale watch and beach toys, the Crocs store for beach shoes.
The villa itself is a perfect two storey layout: upstairs you have 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (the Master bathroom is huge!) with an extra large laundry pair; downstairs is a comfortable living and dining area, large kitchen with ample pots, knives, tools and tableware for meals "at home". We found a generous supply of soap, shampoo, tissues, bath and beach towels, as well as left-behind food items, including condiments, sauces and salad dressings, bottled water, coffee, etc. but no bugs! If you've been to the tropics you know how unusual that is!
Cindy's very personal attention to customer service is also outstanding. She provided us with pre-visit tips on things to do, places to eat, etc., and easy to follow directions, house rules and instructions. She also made contact with us during the visit to make sure we were happy with everything and responded promptly when we had a question about using the AC. We travel to Hawaii every winter and stay in rental condos but we rarely feel so welcome! Thank you Cindy for sharing your lovely home in paradise."
