  • Living large, relaxed and in style in Waikoloa

"My family and I spent 10 glorious days at this tricked-out, well-appointed, luxurious, large and comfortable condo in Waikoloa. I have only praise for the owners and this space. From the moment we contacted the owners to inquire about the space, we had quick responses to our questions with detailed answers. Their 'welcome packet' and 'FAQs' was the most informative and robust document I've ever seen ... and I've been renting through VRBO since practically the founding of VRBO. As for the space itself, it is LARGE, LARGE, LARGE. My wife and I had our two adult children and one teenager with us and we all had plenty of space. The beds were very comfortable and I've never seen a rental space with more towels than this. We had plenty of beach towels and bathroom towels for all of us. The kitchen was very well stocked. We cooked many meals in and had some of our extended family (who were staying nearby in far lower-quality spaces) over for dinners, with plenty of plateware to go around. The location was great, with Hapuna Beach an easy 15 minute drive away."

  • Clean, spacious room with Golf Course view, Pool, Hot tub, large lanai.

"Our second floor room was in the Bo Tree and it was very clean and well furnished, with glistening floor tile and large windows offering a bright view of the golf fairways. A wonderful large shower in the main bath and a tub and shower in the second bath were more than ample and we used the kitchen morning and night, eating at the table on the large lanai. The king bed in the master bedroom was great and there were two beds in the second bedroom... offering lots of space for a family or two couples. Wi-Fi in the room kept us connected and the pool and hot tub on the property kept us busy after dinner. There are shops nearby, if you like to browse, and Kona is about half an hour away. The best boogie board beach on the Big Island is only minutes away and the Saddle Road to Hilo is practically across the road. All that's left is to enjoy all that Hawai'i has to offer and you can return to this little oasis to recover. The only reason I did not rate this as a five star was because I reserve the fifth star for an ocean view."

  • Return trip

"This was our second vacation at Hula Moon and it was as wonderful as the first. There were even some upgrades since our last trip. After a rigorous set of flights to Kona, we both said the same thing as we walked in the door - "We're home". That is about the highest compliment you can give to Hula Moon. It feels like home. Kim provides everything you need to enjoy your time in Paradise. All of the amenities are top notch. The kitchen is well appointed and supplied. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms also well appointed even with a starter pack of supplies. We used many of the "toys" supplied like the boogie boards, and beach chairs. A daily morning swim in the pool was great as was the nightly walk to A-Bay beach for sunset. We enjoyed snorkeling at A-Bay but the water was a bit cloudy, we also snorkeled at Beach 69 and at Mauna Lani which was outstanding. The trade winds made golf a challenge but we pretty much had the Kings Course to ourselves, a real private country club. For groceries we found the ABC store at Queens Marketplace had the best veggies, Safeway in Kona (get a Safeway member discount card) for general stuff and the KTA store in Waikoloa Village for seafood and poke. To top off the whole trip, the whales put on a daily show. We watched from A-Bay or the Hilton many afternoons but also went up to Kawaihae at Pu'ukohala Heiau National Historic site (free) to whale watch. Kim is great to work with and she checked up on us a couple of times during our long stay. Hula Moon is so convenient to everything you may need within walking distance. We ate most meals at "home" and used the grill extensively but had special dinners at KPC in the Hilton and Merriman's at Waimea. Mahalo Kim, can hardly wait to return."
