  • Great place

"We had a great time at this unit. We stayed in another one last year and we enjoyed this one more. The backyard has an amazing view of the golf course and was very private, which was nice for our 2 little ones to play outside. The company was great to work with and we hope to stay in this unit next year! Thank you for a great vacation!"

  • Hui Pu is a fabulous vacation home on the best beach on the Big Island!!

"I loved Hui Pu and would definitely stay there again. Five of us stayed there to celebrate my birthday. The property was spotlessly clean when we arrived, and we managed to keep it that way. The listing description does not really do it justice, as the ambience is difficult to capture in photographs. I really felt like I was in Hawaii, as the house is very authentic Hawaiian in its architecture and furnishings. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped and had everything we needed. We grilled fresh fish that we bought at the fish market nearby in Kawaihae Harbor. We ate dinner one night at the large round table under the gazebo, and another night we ate at the small table outside. When it was windy, we ate at the dining room table. We spent most of our time beachcombing on Wailea Beach and snorkeling and swimming in Wailea Bay. The snorkeling was fantastic, and we saw lots of colorful reef fish and green sea turtles every day. We also hiked on the Kahalui trail up to a point where we watched whales breach and enjoyed the spectacular scenery. In my opinion, there is no more perfect location anywhere on the island. I even invented a cocktail made with POG that we named the Hui Pui in honor of Hui Pu! The house is conveniently located near Kawaihae Harbor where we bought our fish and went on a snorkeling trip with Kohala Divers. it is also near the Mauna Kea Hotel, where we went for cocktails and to watch the sunset, and the Mauna Lani and Waikaloa Beach shopping centers, where we did our grocery shopping at Foodland and Island Gourmet Market. We did have plumbing problems in the downstairs bathroom in the main house, but the management company was extremely responsive and made arrangements to have repairs made as quickly as possible. It is an older home, so the plumbing could use some work, but that was the only negative thing about the house except for something loose that banged against the roof above the master bedroom when it was extremely windy. Once these two issues are addressed, I will be back again to Hui Pu!"

  • Beautiful Condo and Excellent Location!!

"My husband, sons (16 and 10), and I enjoyed a wonderful week long stay at this fabulous condo. It was clean, well appointed, comfortable and conveniently located near beautiful beaches, shopping, and dining. We found it to be so peaceful and relaxing, no noise, it felt like we were really in paradise. The price was exceptional and Barry was easy to work with and super fast with the deposit refund. He provided all the detailed information we would need for our stay which made for a worry and hassle free vacation. I would highly recommend working with Barry and enjoying his beautiful condo. Mahalo Barry!!!"
