  • Paradise not lost here!

"Our two retired couple's stay in J6 was more than we could have hoped for. We came to the Big Island for the wedding of our nephew at Lava Lava Beach Club and were looking for a close-by, non-hotel, location. J6 very much met our expectations. Views from the downstairs living / kitchen area are of the 4th hole of the Beach golf course and we enjoyed watching the occasional golfers each morning as we sat on the lanai for breakfast. Large upstair master king bedroom features views of the golf course, lake and Kings shop area and has a large bath/shower area with double sinks and enormous walk-in closet. Other upstairs queen bedroom had its own bathroom and was very quiet. Downstairs bedroom with 2 twin beds would be great for kids and has a bathroom in the hall for their use. There is more than enough snorkeling equipment, beach chairs, towels and boogie boards. It was nice to be near the pool and hot tub (one unit/building removed) and we used the pool adjacent outdoor BBQ. Kitchen has the basic cooking needs. Big plus was the very efficient air conditioning that took the edge off the sometime humid mid to late afternoon weather. Would definitely stay here again as we found the condo to be very clean and well maintained. Heidi was very helpful though the entire booking process and really appreciated all her help with check-in instructions, etc. Our week in Hawaii was very enjoyable and much of it had to do with this condo, it's location and outstanding amenities."

  • Excellent location, incredible owners

"This was our first trip to the Big Island. The condo is in an ideal location for those who do not want to be in the busy city of Kailua-Kona. The condo is exactly as shown in the photos. Very comfortable and cozy and very quiet at night(and even during the day). The condo is within a short walk to both the Kings Shops and the Queens Marketplace. You can hear the music from the free shows at the Kings Shops while sitting on the lanai (don't worry, it isn't loud and it is finished by 9 PM). Some of the best beaches on the island are within a 15 minute drive from the condo. Our personal favourite is the beach at Mauna Kea and if you have little ones, I would highly recommend it as the shoreline is shallow and the surf was nearly non-existent. You just have to get there early as only so many car are allowed into the free parking lot for the beach. Nick and Anna were excellent to deal with. I can see why their condo is booked most of the time. They quickly responded to any questions, even the ones not related to the condo itself! They provided excellent information on what to do and see. Their onsite management was easy to reach and quickly had the broken hot water heater fixed the same day we reported it. Nick also followed up by email the following day to ensure it had been repaired. I highly recommend heading to the Hilton to see the entire property. It is beautiful. But expect to take at least 1/2 day to see it all, and the best part is, its free! We enjoyed a nice romantic evening out at the Three Fat Pigs restaurant in the Kings Shops. The staff was excellent, service was great and the food was incredible. I highly recommend the manta ray night snorkel trip if you don't mind being in the water at night. It was an amazing experience and I something I will never forget. Also a trip to the volcano is a must. The first time we went, it was pouring rain but the stem vents were performing, however you couldn't see the crater. The 2nd time we went, it was clear and the steam vents were non existent and the crater was amazing. If you are an avid golfer, this is the ideal location being right on a golf course. So bring your clubs! When we return to the Big Island, we will definitely rent this condo again if it is available. Guess we will just have to plan way ahead!"

  • Loved it all. Peaceful and relaxing vacation.

"This was our first stay in the Mauna Lani area. We stayed in G201 from 3/20-3/26 and loved every minute of it. My DH even said upon entering “If I had known the place was so nice, we could’ve stayed here the whole time.” (Before arriving here, we stayed in Volcano for 3 nights.) I will say I wanted to stay closer to the water but the view from the lanai was great. We could see the ocean and sometimes hear the waves. The only issue I had was that sounds from the lanais seemed to echo off the other buildings. This is a low density complex which never ever seemed crowded. Several times we felt we had the place to ourselves. This unit was huge for a one bedroom. Nice big kitchen, roomy living area and 2 full bathrooms. The couch makes into a bed, although we didn’t use it. I was thinking we could bring along one of our nieces next time and they could have the couch and their own bathroom. The bed was comfy and waking up to seeing palm trees outside was always a treat. We did have an issue with ants in the kitchen. When I called about them, we were brought ant traps. These seemed to work well, but we would still occasionally see ants here and there. No big deal to us. We kept all food in the fridge. Lots of towels available, but only one real beach towel. You know the kind of long and colorful towels you take to the beach. We discovered later that bigger “beach towels” were in the unit, but they were white. This is one thing I think they could improve upon. We did like having a washer and dryer in the unit and used it a few times. There was laundry detergent already there and available. The terraces are a quick walk to Makaiwa Bay and the beach. They have cabanas and loungers for use. The snorkeling here is some of the best I’ve ever experienced. Lots and lots of fish in very clear water once you are about 25 yards from the beach. Snorkel early in the day for the best conditions. We went one afternoon and the water was a little choppy. The adjacent fish ponds make for a nice relaxing walk around the area. It’s also a nice walk over to the Mauna Lani Hotel for drinks and dinner. The pool and BBQ area were rarely busy. I went to the pool 3 times and had it all to myself. BBQs you can reserve time at or they have a grill and go BBQ if you don’t want to eat there. There’s a Foodland grocery store about a mile away. They have a nice deli and fresh food selections if you don’t want to cook. What I was missing was an ABC store, but it’s about"
