  • The best in Mauna Lani!!

"This is my 6th trip to the island and my 3rd stay in Mauna Lani. I would say without hesitation that this is the best VRBO I've ever stayed at!! Top notch. Larry is amazing to deal with. The place is stocked!! It felt like being at home. The kitchen is not missing one thing. Tons of towels, bedding, and soap. Fully stocked laundry room. Things that come in handy during a stay on the island. The lanai was private and gorgeous. The beds were super comfy. I don't have one complaint about this property. Don't miss out on this gem!!"

  • Tranquil, peaceful, invigorating and renewing

"The heavy sigh you exhale as you arrive at this lush, verdant property is only the first of many you will experience while staying at Bamboo Cottage. "Can this really be our home for our stay?", you will ask, after another relaxing sigh. Yes! This wonderfully appointed and beautifully situated cottage will become your home, and the charming village of Hawi will become your hometown. Jennifer and Jeff are the most welcoming and accommodating of hosts. Fruit from their trees - lemon, orange, grapefruit, avocado - graced our the kitchen counter when we arrived. Jennifer showed me where to pluck some ginger root, which I used in a vinaigrette on island greens one evening when we chose to dine-in. The kitchen is small but incredibly efficient (I am a culinary professional and this was, by far, one of the best kitchens I've ever cooked in. And the view does not hurt, either!). Shop at the Hawi farmer's market on Saturday for island produce, fruit and other goodies and enjoy a night or two on the lanai after preparing your own dinner! The town of Hawi is funky, fun and friendly with an island vibe you are not likely to find anywhere else. Bamboo is a favorite restaurant of ours and if you are lucky, local son and slack key guitar virtuoso John Keawe will be playing there. Sushi Rock rocks, too! It does rain frequently in North Kohala, and the wind can be blustery at times, but just sit on the lanai, read a good book, listen to birdsong, watch the clouds, and catch a glimpse of Maui across the channel. This will make for a special time on a special island, in a very special place, the Bamboo Cottage. We look forward to our next stay at our home away from home! Aloha!"

  • Great Place/Location, Nice Property

"We just ended at 10 day stay here and loved every minute. this is great for couples or a family of 3 or 4. upstairs master bed/bath, downstairs bed/bath. The owner is great and very quick to reply. Prices are very reasonable. unit 1201 is a nice location in the complex close to the entry and pool, yet still very quiet. the unit is well stocked and use of the beach club is AWESOME. i think the best part was how responsive and reasonable Paul is. he's always answering emails. we would have no issues staying here again."

  • Maggie from Canada

"This condo is ideally situated, being across street from Queens shops, which makes it very handy to everything. It was nicely furnished, with everything you could possibly want. The dishes, pots, pans, utensils, glasses, etc. we're first class, as were the other little nice touches that were left to make us feel at home. We literally had every breakfast, or any meal we ate, out on the lanai, overlooking the golf course. Would highly recommend this unit to anyone, and know, that when we return to Waikoloa, this would be our first choice. Jan was only a text away, and always available! That, in itself is rare!"
