  • A perfect paradise!

"We so enjoyed our stay, just over a week, in this beautiful home (and truly immaculate!). The views were spectacular, the sunsets incredible! The kitchen is very well equipped and we cooked almost every day. Our children loved going to 'their house' every evening after dinner and then coming back to 'our house' for desert! The pool was so clean and warm we used it each day. We will definitely come back and I highly recommend this home!"

  • Far from the Madding Crowd

"Banana Bungalow provided just the secluded escape we were looking for, away from the bustle of the city but close enough to everything we wanted to experience - ten minutes from Pu'uhonua o Honaunau (the most extensive historical site), ten minutes from beautiful beaches for fantastic snorkeling, two hours from Volcano National Park, and twenty minutes from good dining. The ocean south of Kona is less turbulent than in the north, where winds whip up the waters, important for less experienced snorkelers. And the bungalow was delightful, offering all of the creature comforts in a lush, jungly setting. There is no need to rent beach gear, as masks, fins, boogie boards, and beach umbrellas are provided. And not to be missed - Bwana Bob's very funky coffee roasting workshop! Thanks, Susan and Steve, for welcoming us so warmly!"

  • Beautiful house, amazing location!

"I planned a surprise 40th birthday vacation for my husband this July 2016. We invited friends and family to join us and ended up with a party of 7 in total. The house was large enough to accommodate all of us. The lanai was my favorite part of the house to enjoy the ocean breeze. Walking distance, within a minute to Manini Beach and the bay or the opposite direction to launch kayaks or paddleboards. The locals were super friendly and giving, so of course we had to return the favor by renting from them a kayak to Snorkel and view the dolphins in Kealakekua Bay. If you are looking for peace, relaxation and tranquility this home is for you...if you are looking for nightlife, close to bars and restaurants consider being closer to Kona. But it was perfect for us and the ultimate relaxation for the week. The only cons I would have to say is this house has no ac, so either A:be out doing something during the day as it gets very hot and stuffy mid day, or B in the water during that time. If there was ac in this house the rent would probably be crazy high since it is a perfect location. I would also suggest 1 more spare fan for the house since we used each sleeping space, our kids had to alternate nights sharing a fan which with a fan is bare able but without a fan uncomfortable. We were only happy to return home for our ac unit."

  • very wonderful and soo peaceful

"We loved the house and the surrounding area. The snorkeling at Papa Bay is amazing!! Sheryl had all the equipment you needed both inside the house and out. We would stay here again for sure!!! The house was clean and well equipped. The only thing i would want would be more portable fans. There are 2, but we could have used more!! No other complaints, We loved our stay. Thanks Sheryl!!
