  • Great, relaxing stay on a beautiful property

"My girlfriend and I stayed 2 nights at Carol's coffee plantation in Kona. It was very relaxing, and Carol made sure to provide us with anything we might need while exploring that side of the island. She had a lot of helpful suggestions for food and snorkeling spots around the area, and we were taken in by the great view and tranquility of the property. You can even purchase the coffee she grows on the plantation (we got a couple of bags to bring back to the mainland with us). Overall, a great place for a quiet, relaxing time. Thanks again!"

  • Beautiful Ocean view and peaceful

"We stayed at the Bamboo Hideaway unit downstairs for two full weeks and had breakfast on the lanai almost everyday. We enjoyed everyday we were there and the location is convenient to local (Captain Cook) stores, restaurants, shopping and about an hour and a half to the volcano. Everything in the unit we needed was available for use to include boogie boards, umbrella, water shoes etc.. which were located at the garage. Nancy and Greg made sure we were taken care off and we thank you for letting us use your place. We would recommend to anyone to rent a unit from them. Hope to be there again next year. Mahalo"

  • Great location, great property

"This property is close to all of the important locations on the leeward side of the Big Island, but away from the crowds. It's only a few minutes' walk to Manini Beach, one of the best entry points on the island for beginning and intermediate snorkelers, in a bay frequented by a large pod of spinner dolphins. The house has many amenities for visitors and is well maintained, with creatively themed bedrooms. You will love the place! We ate at many nearby restaurants, including Annie's (burgers) and Gypsea Gelato (made in-house, and some of the best you'll taste anywhere). A mere 4 miles from the City of Refuge and the neighboring Two Step Beach, with a wonderful variety of sea life. Bring your friends; bring your family. The housing will be one of the smallest expenses of your entire trip."

  • Both thumbs up!

"This was an excellent find, thanks to the verbal recommendation from a friend at work. We've stayed just a few doors down from this place a few years ago. The location is perfect; quiet, significantly cooler than down below, clean air, no traffic, VERY narrow road but residents are accommodating (make sure your car has enough power to climb---no you don't need a 4 wheel drive), abundance of avocados, wonderful banana bread (Gretchen, would you share your recipe?), and last, but not least, the best coffee on the planet right there where it is grown. You won't be sorry in booking this gem of a find."
