  • Both thumbs up!

"This was an excellent find, thanks to the verbal recommendation from a friend at work. We've stayed just a few doors down from this place a few years ago. The location is perfect; quiet, significantly cooler than down below, clean air, no traffic, VERY narrow road but residents are accommodating (make sure your car has enough power to climb---no you don't need a 4 wheel drive), abundance of avocados, wonderful banana bread (Gretchen, would you share your recipe?), and last, but not least, the best coffee on the planet right there where it is grown. You won't be sorry in booking this gem of a find."

  • We hope we can stay here again some time!

"We stayed two weeks at Papalani Farm and basked in the healing atmosphere of this cozy farmhouse. We had everything we needed and Nikki was a perfect hostess. We received healing energies from the expert massages (the best any of us had ever had) and the Infrared Sauna. We loved the outdoor shower too. The organic foods from the farm were delightful, and some days we just stayed "home" and enjoyed the books and sweet breeze from the open doors. Nikki told us where to find dolphins and we spent over two hours out in the bay swimming with 30-plus dolphins all around us! Lots of Fun - Lots of Sunshine - Lots of Healing - Lots of Love! PS: Our favorite place to eat lunch was at Rebel's Kitchen in Captain Cook! Valerie"

  • Private tropical beauty and comfort

"I adored this upstairs studio. As designed, the gorgeous wood beam high ceiling does remind me of sleeping in a wooden ship. Covered carport parking was definitely a plus. The stainless steel and granite countertop kitchen had everything I needed: coffee grinder, coffee maker, toaster, blender, microwave. Even without AC the three large ceiling fans and six sliding glass doors cooled it down at night. VERY PRIVATE yard with full-size clothesline and fabulous outside enclosed H/C shower. Only thing to keep in mind: Rental location is a good 15-minute drive down or up a winding, paved, steepish road to get to main road where food, gas, shopping are. Walk to Manini Beach. Narrow rocky entrance to snorkeling on Kealakekua Bay--THE BEST."

  • Worth the Wait

"My wife had mentioned to me many times about a beautiful house on the Big island that she was in love with. She had stayed in Melouise's house 9 years earlier with friends. We stayed 9 days and even my young boys were sad to leave. The house was very clean and spacious. Melouise kept us well informed and even checked up on us. Manini Beach is awesome and we had the great pleasure to meet Sandy who is the Caretaker of the beach. Sandy made us feel welcome to this beautiful island. After bbqing my wife and I spent every night on the lanai listening to the waves off Manini Beach. Morning coffee also was enjoyed off the lanai. My middle aged boys snorkeled everyday and enjoyed playing with local kids. Im already trying to plan our next trip. Cant thank you enough and it was truly worth the wait. 6 stars would be more appropriate"
