  • Perfect vacation home

"This house was amazing! All 3 generations of my part loved every inch of this property. We had fresh squeezed orange juice every day, fresh, delicious guacamole, and a little bit of every other fruit we could find. The wrap-around lanai and the clothesline added so much to our experience. We had great Kona coffee outside every morning. The location has an amazing view and it's close enough to everything, but far away enough that it's nice and quiet. My experience with the owner has been fantastic from start to finish, and the caretaker left fresh fruit and fresh flowers for our arrival. The house was incredibly spacious, not at all cluttered, and very comfortable. We will definitely be back to this property."

  • Kay was an excellent host. She made our stay very comfortable and made us feel at home.

"Very large compared to the photos. I would recommend updating the pictures of the overall apartment. Has two bedrooms, large living and connected kitchen area, also two bathrooms. The kitchen was loaded with glasses, plates, pans and and other kitchenware. The things that needed improvement: the WiFi did not connect at all for our cellphones. The TV we didn't bother to even use so I can't comment on that. Overall a great stay and location. Very close to the beach!!"

  • Amazing views

"My wife and I stayed here for the month of February 2017. It was very relaxing which is exactly what we were looking for. The deck is furnished nicely and the perfect spot to read, talk and listen to music. There are also a variety of activities close by if that is what you are looking for. The views are the some of the most amazing we have ever experienced on a vacation. You won't fully appreciate them until you see them in person. We did most of our cooking at the home and purchased most of our food from the local grocery store in Captain Cook. They have about everything you need and are about 20 minutes away. Several times we used the grill on the deck to cook dinner. What a great place to have your happy hour, see the sunset and then cook and eat dinner. Even when cooking in the kitchen (which is provisioned nicely) you still experience the views & the Hawaiian atmosphere. The home is set up nicely with the driveway, and the main floor (bedrooms, kitchen & living room) on the same level. The wood used to construct the home is beautiful. The local beach is very nice but you will need your beach shoes as the sand mostly consisted of small peebles and the waves could be a little rough. There is another nice beach about 15 minutes away called Ho'okena which has nicer sand and is a little calmer for water activities. If you are looking for shopping or restaurants Kona and Ali's Drive are probably the closest place and are just under an hour away. There are many other sites to see close to the home. You can find these listed in the travel book provided in the home. We did visit Volcano National Park which is a must in our opinion but allow a long day to see all of this. We also visited Hilo and the north east coast on the other side of the island. These were beautiful but we decided we preferred the sunny west side of the island. One more tourist attraction to mention is the Punalu’u Black Sand Beach Park near the south tip of the island and the Punalu'u Bake Shop on the way. The beach almost always has the large green sea turtles and the bake shop has some nice baked goods, ice cream and sandwiches. You should also have a breakfast of lunch at the Coffee Shack on Rt 12. We will come back again. Mike and Lisa work hard to maintain the property and provide a great place to visit...thanks."
