  • Big fun on the big island

    "We enjoyed our stay. The layout of the home was great and the view off the wrap around porch was incredible. It was awesome sitting on the porch for meals and overlooking the ocean. Just a heads up that there is no air conditioning which apparently is pretty normal in houses around this island????? There are a lot of fans around the house which helps but it was just a little sticky after long days at the beach. The house didn't smell very fresh upon check in too. I feel that needs to be addressed to enhance the experience of the stay. Also, it's not necessarily bad but the incline/decline of the road getting out and getting into the development is unreal. It WILL be the steepest road you've ever driven on. It was a fun part of the trip but just hold onto your socks and make sure your rental car's brakes are working. Thank you again for a great place to stay on such a cool island."

  • Loved It!

    "My experience as a solo traveler staying at Hale Gediminas was wonderful. The location was gorgeous and peaceful. I was able to enjoy coffee each morning to the sound of the ocean and the island waking up. August and Diva lovely hosts. They invited me over for coffee and gave me tips on what to see/do on the island. They invited me to dinner as well. They also provided snorkel gear, and other beach gear for the duration of my stay. Loved the outdoor kitchen. Overall was very impressed with the level of service and accomodations."

  • A+++

    "Lovely home & the most equipped rental we've ever stayed in! Owner was very accommodating & gave clear instructions. There were some minor maintenance issues...but I reported them & believe they were taken care of for the next renters. If we ever get the opportunity to return to the island, we would definitely stay here. My husband said, "Best vacation to date!""

  • Wonderful Family Vacation at the Aloha House

    "The Aloha House was perfect for me, my wife, our adult sons and their wives and my daughter. All seven of us had plenty of room to stretch out and relax. We woke up each morning to the sounds of the waves and the songs of birds that are unique to Hawaii. Everything smelled and sounded so refreshing. We ate breakfast on the lanai and then went snorkeling in the bay which was only a few steps away. There were more positive experiences than I can list here. Even though we were warned about mosquitoes, we did not have a problem, even when we ate on the lanai later in the evening. As long as you remember that you are in Hawaii, the changes in heat, humidity and nature make it a more memorable adventure. (We loved the geckos!) Several coffee plantations are near and we thought the Aloha House was a good hub for going around the southern tip of the island to Hilo and Kilauea volcano one day and around the northern tip on another day. Both drives were about 2.5 hours one way and were very scenic. Aloha House is in Captain Cook and a bit of a drive off the main highway, but it's location is worth the drive. The house was all that we expected and more. Beth was a great host and had everything that we needed to get started on our vacation. Thanks Beth!"
