  • CANNOT Wait To Go Back!!! Absolutely Beautiful!!

"This was my boyfriend's & I's 1st vacation together and we were over the moon when we got there! The house has been done up with nothing but 150% class. When we opened the door as we arrived, we were absolutely amazed at how beautiful and spacious it was. Every amenity you could imagine is there for you. Every day we roamed in the gardens and picked fresh fruit such as grapefruits, oranges, and star fruit. We enjoyed cooking making breakfasts and dinners in the kitchen on occasion. Nothing there has been forgotten. So much thought has been put into what people will need and enjoy while staying there..The bedroom and bathrooms were amazing and so comfortable. The outdoor shower was such a wonderful treat!! Miss it SO much!! Saw a ton of wildlife on the plantation including wild pigs (totally harmless), and beautifully colored birds that we've never seen before.. We loved feeding the beautiful Koi fish every 3 days at the pond too! The grounds are full of beautiful coloured exotic flowers such as Hibiscus, Anthuriums, trees, bushes, etc. We explored many beaches, saw the amazing Volcano park at night and during the day, went on road trips seeing Macadamia nut and coffee farms everywhere and spend one day driving around the whole island exploring and seeing all of the beautiful sights. My fondest memory was being fortunate enough to swim and snorkel with the spin dolphins and sea turtles as well as all of the gorgeous tropical fish.. Something that will never be forgotten. We loved the sweet smells everywhere we drove, the sunsets, the warmth, the people and especially the home. We were very sad to leave and pray that we can go there again for peace and harmony. We can't thank you enough Donna & Jamie... Much Love from Jeremy & Heather XOXO"

  • I didn't want to leave!

"The photos are an exact depiction of the house and property - and yet the reality is SO much better! This is a perfect house in a perfect location! We loved the Geckos - indoors and out (not so much the other critters - but, hey, it's Hawaii!) We fed the birds, watched the mongoose and heard the goats (we especially loved the baby goat). After an early morning snorkel at Two-Step, we would have breakfast and coffee on the lanai and watch the boats and kayaks over at the Captain Cook monument in the bay. The house description is clear that there is no air-conditioning. It's been our experience that most vacation rentals where we have stayed in Hawaii do not. However, Mary and Bob have provided fans for those nights when the breeze is not sufficient to cool the house. We left the windows open and woke up to the birds and ocean sounds in the morning (having turned off the fans in the night). This rental also includes everything you could ever need in the kitchen and plenty of items that are handy for snorkeling or laying on the beach. We rented snorkel gear from Snorkel Bob's, but used the water shoes and beach towels from the house. The location is rural and yet reasonably close to Kailua-Kona. We've rented a house or condo in Hawaii 6 or 7 times in the last 10 years and this has been our best VRBO experience! I highly recommend this rental!!"

  • Country Paradise

"Our stay on the big island was sandwiched between stays in Maui and Kauai. Meiko's house is located about an hour from the Kona airport, in a country like setting, and was the perfect choice to enjoy some quiet time in an incredible environment. Located on a hill side overlooking the ocean about half a mile away, we enjoyed incredible sunsets from a spacious lanai. The home is well laid out, and kept in top shape. The 2 bedrooms are large, and the beds very comfortable. The open concept living, dinning, and kitchen was also spacious and very functional. A bonus was the outdoor shower, which we used to rinse off the salt water from our dip at the beach located at the bottom of the road. We enjoyed one of the best restaurant breakfasts ever, at the Coffee Shack, which is about a 10- 15 minute drive away. For fish and chip lovers, Keiko's is also a short drive away. Meiko provided very detailed information about the house, nearby beaches, restaurants, and site seeing options. All these factors contributed to rating our stay as a 5 star experience."

  • Watching the sea, crashing waves, snorkel out the door, we loved it

"Mahalo all, especially caretaker, capable helpful and friendly, you made our stay memorable. Windy weeks, big waves so boathouse was closed half the time, oh well. Safety is important! Crashing waves were a treat. This is our second stay in two years, we were awed. So private behind the gate, lovely place. Would recommend to anyone. See you again next time."
