  • to summarize my stay : I would say it was as close to prefect as you can get.

"The rooms were perfectly kept, the views and the sunsets are beautiful. I found the location great, shopping, dinning and the beach easy to get to. Ken and Sandra were helpful with all things Big Island.I plan on returning in the near future. Ruth Shiro"

  • Beautiful and Relaxing Paradise Home

"This home is wonderful, particularly for families with small kids who don't want to stay in a condo or resort. We traveled with three kids (5, 3, 18months) and I loved the idea of an orchard and a swimming pool to keep them occupied if we were working around nap times or meltdowns. Our kids LOVED playing (though closed toed shoes are a must for the orchard) and exploring. The setting was picturesque and private even though it is a residential neighborhood. Debbie was also so thoughtful to provide a pack n play when I mentioned I might need one. Beach towels, snorkeling gear, and sun hats are also available for your use so don't bring from home. In addition to the lovely setting, the rooms were spacious and clean. There was plenty of garage storage for our stroller and suitcases and preparing meals at home rather than eating out was very nice. It felt like home, which if you travel with kids, is a big bonus. This home is located on the "beach side" of the Island so if you want volcanos and waterfalls it is a bit of a drive, but it is close to Kona and all the shopping you could desire. Its proximity to the airport and the Costco were a big plus as we had rental car issues that required us to KEEP going down to the rental places near the airport, but it wasn't a distance. Debbie was great to work with. She replied to all questions I had very promptly and the people she had caring for the house (gardner/pool maintenance/trash guy) were all very affable and accommodating. The gardner even took my mother in law and husband on an hour long tour of the orchard describing the fruits and plants AND brought lovely fresh flowers. It was paradise and if I am lucky enough to go to the Big Island again, I would DEFINITELY stay at this home a second time... maybe without the kids! ;)"

  • chance of a lifetime

"Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We my family (17 members) my children and their children. Such a great opportunity! I give praise to the Lord and thank HIM greatly! We had a wonderful stay and pool was a plus. We all slept comfortably and were comfortable. We especially love the pool and adult time at the Jacuzzi. A few minor things the toaster is a four slot toaster but only two slots work and we needed the four slots to work. Also the rule to throw everything out of the frig (food) but good eggs, good water etc. Thought the rule should be leave what can be salvaged not leftovers but good food eggs, packages that are not opened, perhaps the cleaning staff can make use of it. Frig ice maker didn't work a the bed upstairs needed to be a king bed not twin size. However, all in all we had a great stay and a wonderful time!"

  • Great house for a week with family!

"We recently spent a week in this Kailua-Kona house with 18 people - 9 adults and 9 kids ranging in age from 3 months to 12 years old. The location is great, right in the heart of everything - and there was plenty of space for everyone to hang out alone or together. The inside living room has a huge couch (big enough for 9 children plus a couple of adults!) and the outside dining table in the screened in porch was a good place for communal meals. The owners were so great and very responsive to emails. They were helpful in making sure we had everything we needed for our stay, including two pack and plays, a high chair, lifejackets for children. The house was well stocked with spices in the kitchen and fridge, beach toys (and a whole bucket of water shoes), beach towels. A few things you should know, especially if traveling with a wide age range of people like we were: 1. The six bedrooms are separated on two floors with three rooms on each floor. The bedrooms on the ground floor can only be accessed from an outside door, which can be a concern if you have little ones. Two of the three bedrooms upstairs are also accessed by external doors, but at least these are within the lockable screened-in-porch area. There is only one bedroom that adjoins the kitchen/living room. 2. Though there are screens on the windows there is no glass, which makes sound an issue if you have people getting up and going to sleep at different times. The upstairs back bedrooms back on to the pool so any late or early pool noise would be an issue if someone is sleeping. Also, the bedroom attached to the upstairs living room is completely open at the top so absolutely not soundproof at all. 3. The back bedrooms can get really hot, even with all fans going. They don't get access to the night time breeze like the front bedrooms do. 4. The pool is great for kids because it's shallow, but for adults consider it more of a dip pool. 5. The house is in a great location however between Kahalu'u Beach and Magic Sands. But I would not consider it walking distance to Kahalu'u with kids, and with toddlers/preschoolers we didn't walk to Magic Sands either...not with all our beach gear in tow! Overall, we had a great week on the Big Island. There was so much to see and do we couldn't get it all in. The night manta snorkel/dive is a must do. We also chartered a boat for a morning with the dolphins/snorkeling. Mahalo!!"
