  • Perfect for family!

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We vacationed with just adults, 4 couples. This house was beautiful inside and out! We watched surfers every day from the lanai, while relaxing. Each couple had their own space, and we all enjoyed the large dining area and rec room. When we had to call the property manager, they always responded and were very helpful. This home is close enough to town, yet far enough to be away to relax. All-around great rental, and we would definately recommend to others and stay again if we get back!"

  • Kona IM 2016

"Great time in Kona for our daughter's 1st World Championship Ironman. Our house was great, huge with tons of room for our family and friends. Right on the pacific ocean with snorkeling right out our door and on the Ironman run course. Everything was great and so close to downtown Kona, but far enough to get away from the downtown race craziness. And a great beach right next door. Thanks Kevin. Maybe we'll be back for IM #2?? Someday."

  • Great house with awesome location

"Great older home that has been very well maintained. The location couldn't have been any better and the fact that the house is right on the ocean with fantastic lava tidal pools allowed us to watch and admire many sea turtles during our stay. Kathy was fantastic during the booking and providing us with easy to understand instructions regarding the gate code, key box, etc. The only minor issue is a lack of central air conditioning. During our visit, the Kona temperature was HOT and the lack of central air was a mild inconvenience. The Master Bedroom did have a window unit that was a savior. Usual summer temperatures are rarely this hot, so there usually is no need for air conditioning. I'd recommend Kathy's lovely home to anyone wanting to stay near Kona (about a 5 minute drive from the home)."

  • Great place for a family reunion

"We had a wonderful week with my two brothers and their families. We had 11 total - the adults stayed up on the second floor and all the kids bunked down below, which was a great setup. Hale Honu is perfectly situated right on the ocean and we went snorkeling almost every day right in front of the house, or next door at Magic Sands. We ate in a lot and used the BBQ grill and 2nd floor deck to eat dinner and watch the sun go down. Peter and Darla have stocked the laundry room with tons of snorkeling gear, boogie boards, beach towels, etc. so you don't need to bring anything - and their instructions are really meticulous and detailed. Only thing I would caution is if you are a light sleeper, the ocean is pretty loud, especially if you have to leave the windows open because it is hot. For us it was not a bother and I would not hesitate to come back in the future."
