  • Great studio

"This sweet little studio on the second floor in the Kona Islander Inn compares very well to other condos we have rented at this location over the years. It is nicely decorated and has the amenities necessary for a lovely vacation. The pricing is very reasonable. The view is diagonally towards the ocean and you can hear the waves crashing from the lanai. The Inn is close to everything in downtown Kona. Renting a car is not necessary if you like an in-town vacation."

  • Just as described! Wheelchair Friendly.

"We searched many sites for a condo in the main walking area of town, with a pool, elevators, and workable with a wheelchair... and chose this unit. You will find that there are very few locations that can fill all three of these. We were familiar with the location of the building from an earlier vacation to Kona, but had not been past the storefronts on the first floor. 503 is just as pictured and described, and has all the little extras you may need for time at the beach, including coolers and folding chairs. It also has a first rate view out the front when you are home. Turtles, dolphins, dug-out's, and iron man swimmers could be seen all day long from the living room sofa. The covered parking is a great extra. My wife is in a wheelchair; and this unit has a queen bed, which allows for more clearance for walkers and wheel chairs in the bedroom - and Lisa has a tub/shower chair available for use. We brought our own suction grip grab bars just to be sure. With an assistant, the entire property worked well...we could get the wheelchair around, the halls, the elevator, pool, sidewalks, and out into the town with no issues. Without an assistant, my wife did well in the unit, halls, elevator, and pool; but had issues working with the main lobby doors the elevator. The height of the lock, in combination with the strength of the door closers ended up repeatedly trapping her until someone else came down the elevator or entered the lobby. This is not likely to be an issue for most people, but when I was scuba diving, this ended up limiting her ability to get to the pool as frequently as she would have liked. Overall - wheelchair or not - this is a great property."

  • Awesome View

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Watched dolphins in the bay from the lanai, slept to the sound of the surf at night. Nice pool. 5 minute walk to the farmers market for fruit and veggies, 5 minute stroll the other direction to the ABC store for a bit of everything else. Restaurants up and down Ali'i. But with all the conveniences it is the view that will bring us back."

  • Location and a view

"This condo is amazing. The location is superb. The view is spectacular. The extras, like boogie boards, beach chairs, snrokle gear and towels were the utmost of convenience. Rodney and his wife are helpful and great to deal with. Being lulled to sleep by the waves was the best. I really can't say enough nice things about this rental. Mahalo nui loa!"
