  • Awesome Stay here!

"We were pleasantly surprised with these accommodations - they were all new and updated furnishings, the view was simply spectacular from the open window. The unit was extremely clean, and it was right next to the beach. One note of caution was the beach next door - while it was very nice my wife found out the hard way that one can be banged about on the rocks underneath if caught up in the surf on some days. That being said we had the best snorkelling on the island right in front of the room we stayed. Turtles and dolphins every day! We hope to return to this place if at all possible!"

  • Great value and location, but too uncomfortable for some

"I would have rated this at 3.5 stars, but because you can't rate in half stars and everything else went well, I leaned more to 4. Let me start by saying this was a very well-equipped and clean apartment with a wonderful view, as said on the reviews. Check in/out was super easy and no issues with management or money. However, it is VERY warm in the apartment at nights (and days) due to no air conditioning and very poor ceiling fan speeds! Most older oceanfront condos in this area are built this way and this side of the island (West coast), there is no cooling breeze to help with air flow. So even in the evenings, it is very warm and humid. Our room had a temperature of between 27-30 C or 80-85F with a very weak ceiling fan. We were forced to buy a $40 standing fan at Walmart to cool us down at nights, so we left a nice parting gift to the owner and the next renters there. I don't mean to complain, but it was very difficult to sleep at night because of the warmth and the loud crashing waves because you have to leave the windows wide open. Especially difficult if you like to sleep in a cooler temperature at night. We were so tempted to leave early and get a hotel room with A/C in town. Even Hilo and Honolulu felt much cooler in the evenings because of the winds that blow on from the East. I know this is Hawaii, but on this side of the island, you will want A/C, trust me! Also, the apartment is on the 3rd floor, so keep this in mind when hauling stuff up to the apartment. Not suitable for people with mobility issues."

  • Perfect for a Family

"We were in Kona for a week with our family and we loved every minute of it. The home is so well equipped and comfortable. We cooked most meals there and packed lunches for our day trips to the beach. Did not need anything as cooler, umbrella, beach chairs were all included! The neighborhood is so lovely and the house is close to the little beach town. We ate most meals outside as the weather was perfect. The home was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. I wouldn't hesitate to do this again!"

  • Love that view from cozy, comfortable home away from home

"We really enjoyed our stay at your place in Hawaii. I don't know if it's helpful to list all the things that we liked about your place. We loved the view out the back, found the doors shielded the noise from the surf quite well when shut, but we preferred them open whenever we were awake and at home. The bikes worked great for short errands. The dishes and pans covered all our needs, we ate breakfast at home every day, but ate out most other meals, except for leftovers. We watched a couple movies on the new TV screen and never watched TV. Clothing storage space was a little tight, but since it was just the two of us, living out of suitcase was fine with a few hangups in the closet. We loved the dining table near the back door for a great view while enjoying a relaxing meal. Equally nice was the sunset view while sitting on the couch. The decor is great too. Being able to walk to the beach next door for some of the best snorkeling that I've had on any tropical island was the best highlight for me. The variety of fish was impressive as were the total number of fish. I usually only see that many fish where this fish are routinely fed. The close to centralized location allowed us to do a number of activities and still have some quality relaxation time hanging out at the home base where it is typically quiet. We were only there for a week, but it felt like home right away. With so many options of activities to choose from, we felt limited by time and money, but really liked the things we choose: Zipline in Hilo, scuba, snorkel, swim w/ manna-rays at night, church at Living Stones on Alii Dr, start gazing tour on Mauna Kea, dinner at Huggos, trips to never enough beaches."
