  • Awesome Stay here!

"We were pleasantly surprised with these accommodations - they were all new and updated furnishings, the view was simply spectacular from the open window. The unit was extremely clean, and it was right next to the beach. One note of caution was the beach next door - while it was very nice my wife found out the hard way that one can be banged about on the rocks underneath if caught up in the surf on some days. That being said we had the best snorkelling on the island right in front of the room we stayed. Turtles and dolphins every day! We hope to return to this place if at all possible!"

  • Love that view from cozy, comfortable home away from home

"We really enjoyed our stay at your place in Hawaii. I don't know if it's helpful to list all the things that we liked about your place. We loved the view out the back, found the doors shielded the noise from the surf quite well when shut, but we preferred them open whenever we were awake and at home. The bikes worked great for short errands. The dishes and pans covered all our needs, we ate breakfast at home every day, but ate out most other meals, except for leftovers. We watched a couple movies on the new TV screen and never watched TV. Clothing storage space was a little tight, but since it was just the two of us, living out of suitcase was fine with a few hangups in the closet. We loved the dining table near the back door for a great view while enjoying a relaxing meal. Equally nice was the sunset view while sitting on the couch. The decor is great too. Being able to walk to the beach next door for some of the best snorkeling that I've had on any tropical island was the best highlight for me. The variety of fish was impressive as were the total number of fish. I usually only see that many fish where this fish are routinely fed. The close to centralized location allowed us to do a number of activities and still have some quality relaxation time hanging out at the home base where it is typically quiet. We were only there for a week, but it felt like home right away. With so many options of activities to choose from, we felt limited by time and money, but really liked the things we choose: Zipline in Hilo, scuba, snorkel, swim w/ manna-rays at night, church at Living Stones on Alii Dr, start gazing tour on Mauna Kea, dinner at Huggos, trips to never enough beaches."

  • Lovely studio condo overlooking the ocean, walk to beach next door

"We had a lovely time at this condo. It was clean with comfortable bed and furniture. The soft sheets and towels felt good, a touch of luxury. The kitchen was well stocked. The lanai is enclosed with large glass doors to slide open, making the living area larger. This is a studio so there is not a separate bedroom, but that was fine for us, there was plenty of room and furniture to relax on.. It was pretty warm for sleeping with no air conditioning but there were ceiling fans that helped move the air and thank goodness a standup fan that we pointed at the bed at night. We could look out over the water and see the fish in the waves. It is nice to have an ocean-front view like this, no parking lots or highways to look at, just the ocean. We liked the sound of the surf, it was a reminder that we were at the ocean even after dark. Magic Sands beach is right next door and though the amount of sand varies there, it was a lovely sandy beach on this trip. So nice to just walk over there and enjoy the sand and water, no need to get in the car to enjoy a beach.. There is also a lifeguard at this beach, which is reassuring. We did drive to restaurants, but only takes a few minutes, whether you go north or south."

  • Location is Everything

"Had an enjoyable time and really appreciated the location: crashing surf, nice park next door on one side -- great beach on the other. The bed and bathroom were just fine, but the kitchen and some of the furnishings need work. Had a constant battle with small ants on the kitchen counter (keep your food in the refrigerator or on the glass table) and the glassware, "non-stick" pans & dishes need to be replaced. Don't expect a lot of condiments or cooking needs - you will need to purchase your own. Also the storage drawers in the closet need to be ripped out an be replaced - kinda shabby, but not a deal breaker. The TV was great for watching the World Series in HD. Be aware that this is on the THIRD FLOOR and there is NO elevator. Lugging heavy suitcases up and down was not pleasant, and my wife badly sprained her ankle on the bottom step the first day we were there (thank you Kona emergency room for the quick treatment & crutches!) This is a very good property, but it's no Shangri-La."
