  • The perfect Kona vacation

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit is a wonderful place to experience Hawaii. It is just as described and the ocean views are incredible. Everything we needed was supplied including a well stocked kitchen, tourist books, beach towels, some beach toys, and air conditioning when needed. The unit was clean, well maintained (except for the wifi we lost in the last two days). We left a note and the owner is very responsive. It will be fixed. The condos were wonderfully located close to town. We often walked over to Huggos and Huggios On the Rocks for seaside meals. Some other wonderful things we did, the two hour helicopter ride, visit to Volcano Natl Park. (A long day, start early, bring warm clothes and rain gear), the tiny Octopus Farm, Hakuna Beach, snorkeling at Two Step (get snorkel gear at Snorkle Bobs by Huggos), dinner at Tommy Bahamas at the Mauna Lani resort , lots of sitting on the balcony mornings and evenings. There is even an outside AC on the patio. The BBQ set up by the pool is excellent so we ate at the condo often. Parking is plentiful and easy. We would rent here again. ONE MORE THING: The panel with the door code is on the RIGHT side of the door, low, on the door itself. We spent several frustrating minutes trying to use what must be an old panel on the left between the two units."

  • Amazing view, nice location and great updates

"We were looking for a place within walking distance of shops and restaurants and this definitely fit the bill. The view is amazing with the waves crashing just outside the lanai. The condo has been nicely updated including both bathrooms which were great. The kitchen has also been updated; it was nice to have a filtered water pitcher in the fridge (another pitcher for making juice would've been nice). The unit is nicely furnished without being over-stuffed with furniture. The art throughout the condo is beautiful, including what I'm assuming are "originals" from kids or grandkids - very cute. The master bedroom is very generously sized and having two TVs was a nice plus. The bath towels were great (not what you normally find in a rental) and we appreciated the shampoo, soaps (personal and for the kitchen), etc.; so nice to travel and not have to worry about those things. I read a lot of reviews that talked about the winds making up for the lack of AC; unfortunately, we didn't have those winds during our stay. With AC this would've been five stars instead of four, but the temp never dropped below 80 during our stay which made for some uncomfortable nights. While I love the waves, I was amazed at how loud it is, which could be an issue for light sleepers, especially if they need the sliders open for the breeze. The bed was a little too firm for us, but others may think it's great. I would suggest replacing the pillows though, they all seemed pretty flat. Overall, a very nice unit, great location (covered parking was really nice), light and bright and well furnished."

  • All aspects of our 2-week stay at Kona Reef Resort were very positive.

"All aspects of our 2-week stay at Kona Reef Resort were very positive. The unit has lots of amenities; well stocked; nice kitchen. The unit was very nice; ocean front, elevator; ample covered parking; near town; walking distance to Kailua Kona proper; restaurants; music; sites as well as other resort dining and entertainment. Our party comprised of two couples; very compfortable."
