  • So Delighted!

"Our family was lucky enough to find the Ohana gem. John and Robyn were so easy to work with, very flexible, and the caretaker, Tom, was tremendous as well. The landscaping is impeccable. The home is well equipped with staples, but it also had the little "extras" that made the trip wonderful. We loved the design of the home and the huge lanai gave us even more space, but privacy, too. The beds were all very comfortable with quality linens. We particularly enjoyed the way it was situated on the hill but very close to the beach...far enough from the city of Kona that we felt we were a bit isolated, but 15 minutes from Kona. There is a nice shopping center 5 minutes south with great local flavor surrounding the little community. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!"

  • Perfect location

"Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is in the absolute perfect location. Directly on the rocky beach (no swimming access but also no intruders who wanted to swim). We left the windows open to the ocean breeze night and day and it was divine. In the morning schools of fish congregated near the shore, and in the afternoons we often saw dolphins in the distance. All bedrooms faced the water which was nice. The kitchen was well appointed and the common space big enough to entertain. Now, the negatives. There seems to be a bit of deferred maintenance. The carpet in the hall way is nothing short of filthy and as it was the first thing you saw after walking in the door, it really detracted from an otherwise nice ground floor. The garage is cluttered (and contained two dead rodents), the deck furniture worn, the hot water faucet in one bedroom stopped working while we were there, there is lots of visible exterior rust which is probably a given in the climate but also detracts from otherwise a gem of a building, and the hot tub was not functioning (and not able to be repaired because of a holiday weekend and needing to order parts). A bit of sprucing up and more attention to management would make this place an A+. Our family very much enjoyed our stay."

  • Great condo. Great location.

"We have stayed in this complex once before, actually the one right above this one. We like this location. It is easy to get to everything from here. Condo had all you will need for your stay. It was very clean and comfortable."

  • Convenient, comfortable, cozy

"We enjoyed an easy week at this centrally located Kona Shores location. The enclosed garden is a favorite for songbirds which chattered as we drank morning coffee on the patio. The unit has a spacious feel - its corner location looks out, between buildings, to the ocean and above the cars in the lot which are hidden from view by the garden shrubs. All the comforts of home are in the unit. The location has ocean access and a short walk to town or to beaches. It was a perfect hideaway for the two of us."
