  • Great property with TERRIFIC location!

"We have visited the Big Island several times, but this is the first time we've ever stayed in Kona. Oh-my-gosh! Location, location, location!!!! Not only was the condo beautiful, clean and well-appointed, the location was perfect. Great for walking into town or as a terrific central home base for your daily adventures. Kathy was wonderful to work with too! Our two boys (8 and 16 yrs old) both found the condo and location perfect. The 16 yr. old could have a little freedom skateboarding into and around town. And, the 8 yr old loved the pool and beach beside the condo. Highly recommend the property."

  • Perfect time

"My husband and I spent 6 wonderful days here and don't regret the decision to choose this condo as our Kona, Hawaii get away. We found everything we could ever need to make our time here as easy and comfortable as possible. Everything you could ever need to make a great meal was right there and handy in the well equipped kitchen. The bed was very comfortable and we were able to adjust to the change quickly. I loved having our breakfasts out on the Lanai every morning and then stroll through the gardens with my morning coffee and checking out the beach. It was always a very quiet and restful time. The owners provided lots of helpful information and suggestions to make the most of our vacation. They were always readily available for us via email or phone if we had any questions or requests. We loved the sound of the ocean as it lulled us to sleep every night. The pools and beach at Casa de Emdeko were a pleasure to come back to each day of exploring. Everyone we met there were most kind and helpful to us. It definitely is a place I would want to come back to if I come back to the Kona area of Hawaii again and would recommend it to others that are looking to find a place with all the comforts of home plus all the stuff that makes a Hawaiian vacation memorable. Aloha and Mahalo!"

  • Great Stay!

"We recently stayed in this Unit last week for 10 nights. The unit was clean, updated, and we'll furnished. Grounds were immaculate, grills were awesome, and pool and spa were nice. The AC also worked well. We did everything that the Big Island offers. One night we stayed in Volcano and I would not do that again. All Kona stuff is in walking distance. I found the KTA market in town a reasonable option for groceries. It is a short distance to Da Poke Shack that has great seafood. Greg was a pleasure to deal with. I'd have no problems suggesting this unit to others."

  • Peaceful well-appointed adult retreat

"Wow - what a great vacation! Pat gave us such good communication before, during, and after. When we arrived there was a nice note from the local property manager and some chocolate macadamia nuts - nice touch. Everything was clean and there were plenty of condiments and starters for cooking in the full kitchen. It was super quiet and peaceful overlooking the golf course and you can see the ocean to some degree. We did not use the pool or even see many golfers so it was mostly to ourselves though we can see the other units wet obviously occupied. We were less than a mile from a good sized shopping center with a grocery store, movie theater, and several bars and restaurants. We only went to one of them (L&M Hawaiian BBQ) and it was good for lunch. About 1.75 miles away is the beach, with good snorkeling and boogie boarding and plenty of parking. It was about a 2 hour drive to the Volcanoes National Park which had some great hikes, and it was maybe 75 minutes to the visitors center at Mauna Kea where the stargazing was awesome. Downtown Kona was maybe a 10 minute drive. Cons: it would be tough to see what the Big Island has to offer without a car. We are car people anyway so this wasn't a problem for us, but it could be for you. The bus service is cheap ($2 all the way to Hilo!) but it runs more or less on island time. Also, this unit has no AC and got warm, particularly in the afternoons. Pat has provided several floor fans and most rooms have ceiling fans and even the front screen door locks where you can try to get a cross breeze. This was December, and I wonder what it might be in July or August. Sleeping was fine and mornings were great, but afternoons were a bit warm. Security deposit was also returned within a week of us leaving the unit. If I were coming back to the Big Island in the winter, I would definitely connect with Pat! Mahalo!"
