  • Awesome Stay here!

"We were pleasantly surprised with these accommodations - they were all new and updated furnishings, the view was simply spectacular from the open window. The unit was extremely clean, and it was right next to the beach. One note of caution was the beach next door - while it was very nice my wife found out the hard way that one can be banged about on the rocks underneath if caught up in the surf on some days. That being said we had the best snorkelling on the island right in front of the room we stayed. Turtles and dolphins every day! We hope to return to this place if at all possible!"

  • No way!

""No way" was the first thing one of our sons said as we entered the condo for the first time. It was very spacious and comfortable, and we ended up spending a lot of time on the lanai just listening to and watching the surf smash against the rocks beneath us. There were two couples, each with their own bedroom, and our son had his own bedroom up in the loft. The air conditioning was quite nice, and we never had to adjust it during our 8 day stay there. There are three pools on the property, though we only used the oceanfront pool and the one closest to us. They were quite refreshing, and the spas were also welcome. The tennis courts are quite close, though we did not use them. A couple of suggestions for people who rent. If you want to drive over to the volcano via Hilo, the road over Saddle Point is really quite good now. If you're consulting slightly older guides to the Big Island, it may say that it's not a good road. Just the opposite. Except for a quarter mile of road being worked on just outside of Hilo, the road over Saddle Point is probably better than any other road on the Big Island. Most of it is part of the Daniel Inouye Highway. It's a lovely drive and much shorter (and safer) than going the southern route, especially at night. Also, you should note that all of the snorkel equipment, etc., in the storage off the lanai are leftovers from other renters. None of it is very good, and you're much better off walking or driving up to the Keauhou Shopping Center and buying inexpensive snorkeling equipment at the CVS/Lonn store there. In addition, there is a KTA shopping center there to buy food and beverages. There is also an Urgent Care Center there, but they don't accept insurance cards. You have to pay cash and then bill your insurance for reimbursement. As for places to snorkel and body surf, we would recommend Two Step as the first choice. It's near a National Park to the south. Closer in to town is Magic Sands. Much better for kids and adults not wanting to slice open any part of their bodies on the rocks. Finally, in town and near the pier, is a lovely area (with a nice park) where you can swim without having to deal much with the rocks. Not a lot to see if you're snorkeling, but little kids might like it. To give you an idea of the area, it's a place where swimming teachers work with little kids. We hope this has been helpful."

  • A Gem Found...

"A corner unit on the second floor (mobility challenge of 3 sets of stairs). Bright, cheery, with clean fresh walls and uncluttered space. The beds were good even if our own preference is for very firm mattresses. The linens clean and light coloured. Mattress pads are on all mattresses. The kitchen is well supplied, clean with well functioning dishwasher and the huge benefit of a ceiling fan. There is an organized, clean supply of snorkel gear, boogie boards etc. Clean, maintained, functioning, organized, comfortable are the descriptors for this condo making it a gem in the world of rental condos. The balcony is carpeted so we attempted to prevent heavy dripping of wet bathing suits. We were very aware that we could cause noise for our neighbours below when our grandkids came over and ran or jumped but the complex does have quiet time guideline which seems most people adhere to. The complex itself is very well cared for. The pool a highlight with 1', 3' up to 8' depth. The tennis courts have been resurfaced. The nearby Keauhou Shopping Centre (within walking distance for some) has an excellent KTA grocery store, Urgent Care Center, restaurants, cinema etc making location of this condo a good choice in this area. The opposite walking direction easily takes you to the Kahaluu snorkel beach. The large beaches are a drive North for about an hour and traffic can become heavy at times with present speed restrictions due to road construction. We will definitely return to this condo and have no hesitation recommending it to you. We believe these owners are committed to ensuring their condo will delight you."

  • BREATHTAKING CONDO!!!!!

"My husband & I stayed here for 10 days on our honeymoon and could not have asked for anything more perfect. Where do I even start. This condo is literally ON THE BEACH. Open up the patio doors and let the ocean breeze in! You really don't even want to leave the condo, we sat on the balcony watching the waves & boogie boarders for hours. Not to mention it has EVERYTHING you need! A huge kitchen that comes stocked with all the cups, plates, pots, pans, etc. This was great for us, we went to Walmart the first day we got there and stocked up on some groceries, so we weren't having to eat out every meal, just a couple times for nice dinners when we felt like it. A washer & dryer in unit for your beach towels/ clothes. 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, plenty of room. Couch even lays down into a bed! It also has 2 boogie boards and snorkel gear to save you a couple dollars from renting! The condo is within walking distance to all the restaurants, bars and shop in Kailua-Kona, so you can take a nice stroll up and down Ali'i drive. The property also has a nice community pool (warm water), spa, and BBQ area that overlooks the ocean, and is a nice place to watch the sunset. Sonya is just a call away and is the sweetest person, shes the one that will check you in, she's happy to take you surfing/ paddle boarding and show you around if your interested. I am just daydreaming about when we are able to come back. There is no doubt we will stay in this same condo again and again!!!!! Thank you for your warm hospitality and a honeymoon we will always remember!"
