  • Fabulous Kona condo!

"My husband and I stayed in this delightful studio for one week and we were VERY pleased. We arrived late at night and really appreciated the wine, chocolates and nuts Rebecca had waiting for us – the perfect treat after a long travel day. The king size bed was very comfortable and we loved listening to the waves crashing on the shore just across the street. There is a convenient parking spot right by the front door, which was available all week for us. We felt very safe and at-home here, the locals were very friendly. The unit was very well equipped - lots of very plush bath towels, toiletries, hair dryer, kitchen appliances and condiments galore. 2 boogie boards, 2 small coolers, ice packs, oversized beach towels and 2 beach chairs provided everything we needed for a day at the beach. Wifi was excellent and we had no issues FaceTiming and watching Netflix. Lots of movies and books available in the unit as well. Rebecca was in touch before and during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed, and graciously allowed us to a late check out to accommodate our 11 pm flight home. The Kona trolley stops right in front of the Kona Bali Kai, and will quickly take you to/from town for $2 per person each way. It only runs until about 9 pm though, and after that a quick $10 cab ride will get you back home. We really enjoyed ending our days at Laverne’s Sports Bar which tended to host a mostly ‘older’ crowd (40+) until about 11:00. Also really enjoyed Splashers Grill and Humpy’s Alehouse. We found some amazing snorkelling at Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park, about a 20 minute drive away. The turtles would literally bump into us while we were snorkelling. Truly breathtaking above and below water. All in all, this was an excellent home base for our Kona adventures, and we would not hesitate to stay here again and to recommend this unit to others. Mahalo Rebecca!"

  • Beautiful property near Kailua Kona

"We just returned from a Hawaii trip with the extended family. There were 12 of us altogether. We spent half our time on Oahu and half on Hawaii. Joe and Dana are the owners of this lovely home. It was large enough to accommodate us comfortably. There are 3 bedrooms in the main house, one of the rooms with a secret sliding bookshelf door. Each of the rooms have its own bathroom with shower or tub. There is a swimming pool which you have exclusive use of. There is a pool house which also has a bedroom, living room, bath and a small kitchenette. Two of the bedrooms are built into the 3 stall garage. The rooms have separate entrances and each also has bathroom/shower. So there is privacy with each room. There is a large patio with outdoor table and chairs and there is a large dining table inside the main house also. I would have been happy just lounging around this house enjoying the view and the pool. However there are many beaches and water activities accessible within short driving distance from the home. (we went snorkeling with the dolphins, night snorkeling with manta rays, shopping/eating at the Kona Inn Shopping Mall nearby). Grocery store is also a short drive away. Distance to the airport is about 15 min. There is a Costco nearby also. Volcano and Hilo are on the other side of the island, about 2+ hour drive there. Joe and Dana live nearby and are very responsive if you need anything. They have for your use some snorkels, boogie boards, pool toys, booster seats if you need to use them. There is cable if you have time to watch television and a pretty large collection of movies on DVD in the living room. Only downside is that the wildlife (birds, especially wild chicken which seem to roam on Hawaii and Kauai) like to wake you up early with their noise. No air conditioning and we were there in the height of the summer. Ceiling fans in every room help or jump in the pool to cool down. I recommend this house and would stay there again if visiting Kona with a larger group."

  • Beautiful and Relaxing Paradise Home

"This home is wonderful, particularly for families with small kids who don't want to stay in a condo or resort. We traveled with three kids (5, 3, 18months) and I loved the idea of an orchard and a swimming pool to keep them occupied if we were working around nap times or meltdowns. Our kids LOVED playing (though closed toed shoes are a must for the orchard) and exploring. The setting was picturesque and private even though it is a residential neighborhood. Debbie was also so thoughtful to provide a pack n play when I mentioned I might need one. Beach towels, snorkeling gear, and sun hats are also available for your use so don't bring from home. In addition to the lovely setting, the rooms were spacious and clean. There was plenty of garage storage for our stroller and suitcases and preparing meals at home rather than eating out was very nice. It felt like home, which if you travel with kids, is a big bonus. This home is located on the "beach side" of the Island so if you want volcanos and waterfalls it is a bit of a drive, but it is close to Kona and all the shopping you could desire. Its proximity to the airport and the Costco were a big plus as we had rental car issues that required us to KEEP going down to the rental places near the airport, but it wasn't a distance. Debbie was great to work with. She replied to all questions I had very promptly and the people she had caring for the house (gardner/pool maintenance/trash guy) were all very affable and accommodating. The gardner even took my mother in law and husband on an hour long tour of the orchard describing the fruits and plants AND brought lovely fresh flowers. It was paradise and if I am lucky enough to go to the Big Island again, I would DEFINITELY stay at this home a second time... maybe without the kids! ;)"

  • Would definitely stay again!

"The view and location were perfect! Breathtaking views of the ocean and sunsets each day. Right next to a beach park and walking distance from downtown. While the condo can use some upgrades and maintenence, the property is beautiful and well kept. Would recommend for a family of 4."
