  • The property is clean, well maintained and has a breathtaking view.

"The building is an older one, but is well maintained. The condo has been renovated and has a nice kitchen that is stocked with everything that you would need. I was impressed with the other supplies such as beach towels, boogie boards and snorkeling gear. The condo is very light and it is all about the view of the ocean! You will enjoy the sound of the waves. It has a great location, right next to a beautiful beach. The boogie boarding at Magic Sands is not for the faint of heart, but it is doable for a quick learner. I liked the location of the condo on Alii Drive, just out of the main town of Kailua-Kona and close to the State Park with its amazing snorkeling. We would definitely go back for another stay at the Kona Magic Sands, #314!"

  • AMAZING condo with GORGEOUS views!! (Please read if you have mobile babies though!)

"We had two families stay in this penthouse condo, with 5 people in each family, so 10 people total. This condo was perfect for our small family reunion! Absolutely amazing views! Everything we needed already stocked (and some we didn't know we needed!), including all kitchen supplies, extra toiletries, extra games/cards/binoculars, sand toys, extra beach towels, laundry detergent, and more. Parking was underneath the bundling, and a breeze. We were close to White Sands beach, and a great snorkeling beach, less than two miles from each. Close to downtown, but not close enough to be loud, or get into all the traffic. We used the facility pool, outdoor grills, and outdoor lawn areas. We also enjoyed looking through the tide pools each day when the tide was out. Holly was beyond helpful! When I asked her about a pack'n'play for my baby, we showed up to not only a brand new pack'n'play, but also, a brand new stroller! As wonderful as the condo was (we watched sea turtles from our very LARGE lanai every day), I do have to give a caution to families wanting to stay here with very young children. We had a baby (20 months) who is mobile, and I was not comfortable with her on the lanai during our entire time. She couldn't reach the top of the barrier, but the slats were wide enough that she could put her leg through. Since we were on the 4th floor, I was very worried! The barrier outside the condo (around the rest of the building) was worse, it was even wider! If you have older children, our next oldest was 6, this won't be a problem at all, it just was a concern with our baby. So, if you are taking a very young child, like less than 3 years old, I would caution you about the condo's lanai and building barriers."

  • Aloha

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Lovely view of the ocean and sunset from the back deck. Close to good snorkling beaches, restaurants and grocery stores, scenic sights. Loved being able to participate in out-rigger canoeing at the harbor ! The front desk staff was very helpful when my friend's delayed luggage arrived. We had a very relaxing time and good weather the 2nd week in April ! (Had trouble with the lock box on the front door of the unit which held the door key-- perhaps too much salt air -- eventually the lock box would not open with the proper combination of numbers used)"

  • Excellent in every way

"Our family of six (two children, two parents, + two grandparents) stayed here for 10 days for a second time and loved every minute of it (again). The two bedrooms downstairs were occupied by the adults and the children were able to sleep in the beds upstairs. It was the perfect amount of space for us. It truly felt like home away from home. The lanai offers amazing views of both the ocean activity and sunsets galore. You have three pools to choose from (we always chose the middle pool as it is closest to the unit). Although we don't normally like TV while on vacation, the flat screen and DVD player came in clutch when the kids needed a break from the sun/beach. The kids used the provided boogie boards and the parents used the snorkeling gear/beach chairs/umbrella from the storage closet. You have access to several clean beach towels, and they even have sand toys for the kids. The proximity to downtown Kona and a grocery store is perfect. It's close enough to jet downtown, yet far enough to enjoy some quiet time. Don't worry about shopping as the grocery store is a short walk from the unit. I noticed a few people talk about air conditioning here.... the weather was 90+ degrees every day we were here and as long as you leave the windows open all day, it was comfortable. In fact, a few of us had to turn the fans off at night as it got a little chilly. A/C=no need! WiFi-The only thing I can offer the next potential vacationer staying here is to be sure and reset the router if the username doesn't show up. You do this by unplugging the router for a few minutes, plug back in, and walla... type in the pw and it works perfectly! This place seriously has everything you need....pack a few shirts, shorts, and flip-flops and you're set!"
