  • Great stay at White Sands

"Just got back from a wonderful vacation in Kona. We had 13 people, three generations, 18mo to 65 and the house worked well for all of us. It was a hot week and we all loved afternoons in the beautiful pool. Loved that there were many beach towels and beach toys for our use. The 18mo and 2 year old enjoyed the large areas in the house to run and play. The house now comes with a pack-n-play. The location is perfect, close to beaches, shopping and many restaurants. It made a great central location as we explored the big island. Thank you John and Robin"

  • Excellent in every way

"Our family of six (two children, two parents, + two grandparents) stayed here for 10 days for a second time and loved every minute of it (again). The two bedrooms downstairs were occupied by the adults and the children were able to sleep in the beds upstairs. It was the perfect amount of space for us. It truly felt like home away from home. The lanai offers amazing views of both the ocean activity and sunsets galore. You have three pools to choose from (we always chose the middle pool as it is closest to the unit). Although we don't normally like TV while on vacation, the flat screen and DVD player came in clutch when the kids needed a break from the sun/beach. The kids used the provided boogie boards and the parents used the snorkeling gear/beach chairs/umbrella from the storage closet. You have access to several clean beach towels, and they even have sand toys for the kids. The proximity to downtown Kona and a grocery store is perfect. It's close enough to jet downtown, yet far enough to enjoy some quiet time. Don't worry about shopping as the grocery store is a short walk from the unit. I noticed a few people talk about air conditioning here.... the weather was 90+ degrees every day we were here and as long as you leave the windows open all day, it was comfortable. In fact, a few of us had to turn the fans off at night as it got a little chilly. A/C=no need! WiFi-The only thing I can offer the next potential vacationer staying here is to be sure and reset the router if the username doesn't show up. You do this by unplugging the router for a few minutes, plug back in, and walla... type in the pw and it works perfectly! This place seriously has everything you need....pack a few shirts, shorts, and flip-flops and you're set!"

  • Beautiful little piece of paradise- enjoyed our stay!

"Older building but newly remodeled bathroom and kitchen inside- comfortable, clean and beautiful living space. Location was easy to find- directly across the street from Magic Sands, fantastic beach and sunset views and a short drive into town or other nearby sites (coffee houses/plantations, Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park, Manago Hotel). No air conditioning but large fans helped a lot. During our stay, water heater was being repaired so hot water was turned off but taking cold showers wasn't an issue. Helpful and informative neighbors were great too. Thanks for a great stay!"

  • Great condo, close to lots of things to do!

"This was my family's first trip to Hawaii. Honestly, we had little idea where we wanted to stay or what to expect. Jonathan was SUPER helpful and sent us lots of ideas of "must do's", local places to visit, suggested places to eat, and more. The condo was a super short walk to a beautiful white sandy beach that offers a sand volleyball court, lots of room to sun bathe, great boogie boarding waves (a favorite of my kids!!!), and some pretty cool snorkeling and is frequently visited by sea turtles! The condo is also VERY close to one of the great snorkeling coves .... AMAZING sea life to see! The condo itself offers a great opportunity to have all the normal "home" conveniences - fully functional kitchen, laundry, balcony (stocked with ALL sorts of goodies for beach fun!), cable TV, and some DVD's for nights! My family of 5, the "children" being from 20 to 14 years old, all fit comfortably. Overall, staying at White Sands was PERFECT, if/when we visit Hawaii again, we'll be staying here again!!!!"
