  • Beautiful and Relaxing Paradise Home

"This home is wonderful, particularly for families with small kids who don't want to stay in a condo or resort. We traveled with three kids (5, 3, 18months) and I loved the idea of an orchard and a swimming pool to keep them occupied if we were working around nap times or meltdowns. Our kids LOVED playing (though closed toed shoes are a must for the orchard) and exploring. The setting was picturesque and private even though it is a residential neighborhood. Debbie was also so thoughtful to provide a pack n play when I mentioned I might need one. Beach towels, snorkeling gear, and sun hats are also available for your use so don't bring from home. In addition to the lovely setting, the rooms were spacious and clean. There was plenty of garage storage for our stroller and suitcases and preparing meals at home rather than eating out was very nice. It felt like home, which if you travel with kids, is a big bonus. This home is located on the "beach side" of the Island so if you want volcanos and waterfalls it is a bit of a drive, but it is close to Kona and all the shopping you could desire. Its proximity to the airport and the Costco were a big plus as we had rental car issues that required us to KEEP going down to the rental places near the airport, but it wasn't a distance. Debbie was great to work with. She replied to all questions I had very promptly and the people she had caring for the house (gardner/pool maintenance/trash guy) were all very affable and accommodating. The gardner even took my mother in law and husband on an hour long tour of the orchard describing the fruits and plants AND brought lovely fresh flowers. It was paradise and if I am lucky enough to go to the Big Island again, I would DEFINITELY stay at this home a second time... maybe without the kids! ;)"

  • So Delighted!

"Our family was lucky enough to find the Ohana gem. John and Robyn were so easy to work with, very flexible, and the caretaker, Tom, was tremendous as well. The landscaping is impeccable. The home is well equipped with staples, but it also had the little "extras" that made the trip wonderful. We loved the design of the home and the huge lanai gave us even more space, but privacy, too. The beds were all very comfortable with quality linens. We particularly enjoyed the way it was situated on the hill but very close to the beach...far enough from the city of Kona that we felt we were a bit isolated, but 15 minutes from Kona. There is a nice shopping center 5 minutes south with great local flavor surrounding the little community. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!"

  • Family Vacation

"My family spent a great week at this beautiful condo. A family of six adults and a one year old had plenty of room and all the amenities we could ever need. The condo was beautifully decorated with great furnishings. The kitchen was fully equipped and great for cooking Ahi and making Poki. All the beach items needed were in the garage including beach towels and chairs. Morning coffee and sunset cocktails on the patio viewing the Pacific were great. An active family we swam, and snorkeled at different beaches, kayaked to Capt. Cook, toured the island and visited two of the National Parks. This condo was a great start and end point for our adventures. The owner was a pleasure to work with. She was friendly, very responsive and assisted us in every way. The Sun Quest management staff were equally responsive and very helpful. The community was beautiful and well maintained. The pool with a one yr. was a great place to spend late afternoons. We will be back and the Na Hale Keauhou N1 is our first choice. A great vacation!"

  • Wonderful stay

"We were lucky to have stayed here for 4 months, a few weeks in the lower unit and the rest of the time in the upper. The views are incomparable and we sorely miss waking up to the Kona coast. Being up mauka made for comfortable temperatures, especially for sleeping, and wonderful privacy. It was so nice to get out of the heat of the coast with a quick drive to the farm. We loved walking around the farm grounds and watching all of the wildlife (TONS of birds such as parrots, wild turkeys, pheasants, Hawaii chickens, egrets, cardinals, and mynas; then mongoose and geckos). I could not help smiling every evening listening to the pigs and other animals rustle around eating macadamia nuts. Watching the turkeys peck at mangoes that dropped from the massive trees was also amusing. Each unit truly does have everything you'd need, but we were more comfortable in the upper unit. The kitchen is fully stocked. The lower unit bathroom is very fancy, the upper unit baths less so but perfectly functional. It's easiest if both renters park in the garage, which frees up the extra space at the top of the driveway to back up and then drive down. The walk from the garage to the units is steep...good exercise! Al was very responsive to any questions or concerns and even gave us a bag of Kona beans during one of his visits. We met the groundsman and one of the workers from the UCC coffee farm next door, and they were so friendly. All in all, this was a wonderful, unique place to stay and we enthusiastically recommend it!"
