  • Fourth of July

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our fourth trip to the island and we stayed here over the 4th of July. Kona is a great area and staying in Keahou Estates is fantastic if you are looking for sweeping panoramic views and quiet! You are about 15-20 minutes away from downtown Kona (not a lot of restaurant choices but there are a few, however if you are staying at the house in general you are cooking your meals and sitting on the Lanai enjoying the fabulous sunsets). For better dining options you need to go about 35-45 minutes up the shore to Waikoloa village Where there are several options for dinner. There is also a nice beach at waikaloa that is good for young kids, but if you like waves then go to Hapuna which is another 10-15 minutes north. Bigger waves can be found on the south side of the island (green sand beach which we visit every time). There is also a lovely black sand beach about 15-20 minutes past the south point road exit. About the house.....Its beautiful and we would definitely return. The upkeep could be a little better but it is the ocean and Hawaii so sometimes that's to be expected. We recommend the surround sound get repaired so it can be used as well as the receiver which controls most of the media (they were not working). Outside of some other small issues which Kona Coast took care of promptly everything was wonderful! Kudos to Kona Coast and their professionalism! And a warm Mahalo to the owners for opening up their beautiful home to us! This is a driving island and there are many great places to go so explore!"

  • Loved everything about this condo!! Five Star!!

"Have stayed in many condos for our annual trip to Kona and this one has got to be the best. Small community feel and private entrance. The furnishings and decor was gorgeous. Amenities down to the sheets and extra thick towels were a treat. Enjoyed the AC in the bedrooms and the outdoor grill on the patio. And somehow it felt like home. The potted palm with the small twinkling lights in the livingroom made it special. The staff was super friendly and the residents treated us like long time neighbors. I look forward to staying here again!! Thanks Mike and Nancee for sharing your home away from home with us!!!"

  • Beautiful Hawaiian Vacation Home

"We chose Hawaii as our family vacation destination this year and Hale Wailele has created wonderful memories for all of us. The home is beautifully and tastefully furnished with artwork and sculptures, and a more-than fully equipped kitchen (for those who enjoy cooking) with dishes and utensils for a large group. Cooking on the Evo outdoors was a blast. For our party of 8, we had more than enough room for all of us. The bedrooms were very spacious and comfortable. We had the huge master suite and loved it. After spending the days doing deep sea fishing, snorkeling, spotting manta rays, hiking to see petroglyphs and visiting botanical gardens/waterfalls, our grandchildren enjoyed both swimming in the pool, soaking in the hot tub and lounging in the hammock. This home has everything and more and we were so glad it was available. We didn't get to see the hidden garden tub or outdoor shower until our last day and it is a tranquil retreat the next time we return to Kona. The location is great with its views and being the end house on the street making it easier to get out of the driveway. Shopping (Costco) and restaurants are a short drive down the hill."

  • Perfect location

"Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is in the absolute perfect location. Directly on the rocky beach (no swimming access but also no intruders who wanted to swim). We left the windows open to the ocean breeze night and day and it was divine. In the morning schools of fish congregated near the shore, and in the afternoons we often saw dolphins in the distance. All bedrooms faced the water which was nice. The kitchen was well appointed and the common space big enough to entertain. Now, the negatives. There seems to be a bit of deferred maintenance. The carpet in the hall way is nothing short of filthy and as it was the first thing you saw after walking in the door, it really detracted from an otherwise nice ground floor. The garage is cluttered (and contained two dead rodents), the deck furniture worn, the hot water faucet in one bedroom stopped working while we were there, there is lots of visible exterior rust which is probably a given in the climate but also detracts from otherwise a gem of a building, and the hot tub was not functioning (and not able to be repaired because of a holiday weekend and needing to order parts). A bit of sprucing up and more attention to management would make this place an A+. Our family very much enjoyed our stay."
