  • Great location and comfortable home!

"This little 1-bedroom apartment is the perfect getaway accommodation for Kailua-Kona. Just a 25-minute walk into town, it's close enough to be part of the action yet far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle. Well-equipped kitchen and comfortable bedroom, we didn't need to bring any household items of our own. Would definitely recommend this little gem to friends."

  • Great Condo, Great Location

"This is a wonderfully large condo, with a location right on the ocean front. My husband is handicapped, which is why we booked this condo: it has a roll-in shower and an accessible bathroom with grab bars and raised toilets--not always easy to find in condo rentals. Weather was really hot this time of year (late September), with virtually no wind, so we appreciated the A/C during our week long stay. There were some problems with the television reception. Directions listed in the "help" book don't work at all, but I was able to get the set working. And the cable company was working on the property, resulting in loss of reception for a time. Also, there are no working telephones in the condo. Apparently, they are not even hooked up. If you need to call re an emergency, keep your cell charged at all times--it will be your only phone. The condo is very well stocked with anything you might need for simple living, including lots of seasonings. We had some insect problems in the kitchen (small ants), but I was able to eliminate them with Simple Green found under the kitchen sink. Also had a huge cockroach, but finally got rid of him, too. There is a small refrigerator outside, but it is in dire need of defrosting. We didn't need to use it at all. The ocean views and privacy of the condo are exceptional. We both enjoyed sitting on the lanai in the morning, having breakfast and watching the outriggers go by. Didn't see any dolphins, but certainly loved watching the surf hit the lava rocks. There's a shopping area just up the hill, perfect for picking up groceries at the KTA or getting a quick meal at L & L or Subway. Covered parking is close by, but be sure to drop off any handicapped person near the condo before using the very small space. Exiting the car is not always easy, if the other space is occupied. We truly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again in the future, health willing. The condo is very well furnished, large, and in a great location. Go for it!"

  • Wonderful first time stay!

"Jan's property was a perfect choice for us. Everything was clean, in working order and tastefully decorated. The view, hands down, was amazing! Jan also included so many nice touches such as a things to do idea box, beach chairs, beach towels and so many other amenities! The pool was wonderful and the parking was very convenient. Jan and the property management were extremely responsive and friendly to work with. All in all, the perfect spot to stay for our first visit to The Big Island!"

  • Quiet retreat south of Kona

"This property is a slice of island paradise. It is near the end of a long, fairly steep, narrow road and all the vegetation makes you feel all by yourself. It is comfortably outside of Kona so you're away from all the tourists but close enough to get into town without a long drive. It is not near the water but you can see the ocean from the patio/seating area/kitchen. I did not find the chickens/roosters annoying at all but ear plugs are provided. The bed and linens were comfortable. As we sleep hot we grabbed both fans from the closet and that kept us sufficiently cool to sleep comfortably. The kitchen was well appointed with whatever you might need. I enjoyed the coffee maker and Costco coffee each morning. A variety of beach supplies in the closet helped make our snorkeling outing a ton of fun. Be sure to bring mosquito spray if you'll be sitting outside of the enclosed area. We really loved our stay and would come back again!"
