  • Wonderfully comfortable and relaxing, gorgeous views and great amenities

"We would go back in a heartbeat, and definitely try to book this unit again. Yes it is a 3-floor walk-up, and there is no air conditioning, but with plenty of fans, sliding screen doors, an expansive wrap-around lanai for outdoor dining, watching sunsets and breaking waves, it's hard to picture a nicer spot. We only closed the glass sliders one evening when a tropical storm blew by. This an end unit with south and west exposure, really great views from third floor level. Third floor gives you the most privacy also. Being on the top floor, this unit had great high sloping ceilings which added significantly to the feeling of openness. There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, washer/dryer, a perfectly adequate kitchen with all the standard expected appliances, and the refrigerator has a dynamite ice maker and there are lots of cold packs in the freezer. Good size combined dining and living room, but my wife and I took all our meals out to the dining table on the lanai. Main bedroom area has a king bed, view of the ocean and there are sliding shoji screens that can be closed to provide privacy from the living/dining area if so desired. This bed was very comfortable. Second bedroom has a queen size bed and the windows in this room face the mountains. There are plenty of closets, lots of hangers, beach toys like noodles, coolers for packing lunches for day trips, plenty of beach towels, bath linens, etc. Although we only used the TV to check storm forecasts the instructions were easy to understand and lots of channels available. Also CD player in the unit and wi-fi in the complex. It seemed plenty fast for the business correspondence I occasionally needed to do with my morning coffee. I brought binoculars but owner also has two pair in the unit. The KKSRC has three really nice tennis courts and a large pool which is about to undergo some refurbishment. We spent time there every day and it was delightful. The grounds are very well tended and the landscaping is quite mature and lovely. To give the condo buildings and the townhouses some additional privacy there is no long continuous walk along the water edge or rather the 20'+ high, broken lava cliff edge. You can walk along a couple of the buildings and then the paths end either in broken lava scree or dense low barrier hedges which you don't want to try to walk through. Being an older resort (35+ years) it was built quite close to the ocean edge which makes for a delightful and picturesque setting."

  • Birdsong Paradise close to everything!!!

"My family now has a favorite vacation spot on the Kona coast where we feel at home! The Property Manager was most helpful and caring with lots of great suggestions and clear directions. We were surprised how at home we felt in the condo. We knew with 5 adults we were overloading the condo a bit, so we picked up an inflatable mattress bed that turned out to be very comfortable. We left it behind at the condo since we're family now! There was room for all of us to be comfortable, even on the wonderful lanai. It turned out to be a huge blessing to have the motorized awning we could extend as we hit a rainy time. The brand new roof did great with the heavy night and morning rains, and we were even able to grill on the electric grill during a rainstorm. Even with the unusual rains, it really didn't stop us from doing everything we wanted to do. Be sure to buy to some fresh local fish and grill it up yourself for a great sunset meal and great view from the lanai. If you like to golf, don't miss the beautiful Kona Country Club. Most holes have views of the ocean. Rise with the beautiful birdsong as soon as the sun begins to shine, and get to bed early after enjoying the sunset. We left all the windows open and had wonderful air flow all night (ceiling fans helped), which also allowed the great mix of birdsong to fill the air each morning. We also loved having so many colorful birds hopping on the railing in search of some breadcrumbs. There is so much to do around the condo, and it is all so close! Shopping, shave ice, restaurants, etc. But the best part is Keauhou Bay itself. My son did a ton of research and found Anelakai Adventures, which launch out of Keauhou Bay, which is just a very short walk down the hill from the condo. Our family of 5 were all at different levels for paddle boarding, and we had the best time, with two guides who split up so my wife and I could stay more in the bay and the kids could head deeper into the ocean. Don't miss the Night Manta Ray Snorkel trip with Anelakai as it was by far the most intimate, friendly and special experience of all the teams out there. Also, the Keauhou Canoe Club on the bay will allow visitors to ride and paddle free with regular members Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for about an hour paddle. Show up about 6:15 AM. We loved having the double pool just steps from the condo - great for a late evening swim and so convenient. This was the perfect place for us. We left a piece of our hearts here ."

  • Wonderful Vacation!!

"Simmy's wonderful home could not have been better. The home is perfect and in a perfect location. Our three teenagers enjoyed the short walk to the beach where they were able to enjoy the snorkeling and surfing. The furnishings and amenities were perfect for our family! It was the greatest place to relax and enjoy our time on the Big Island. We will certainly be back. Thank you Simmy for making our stay wonderful!"

  • Calgary, AB

"This condo was very clean and spacious. We ate out on the lanai which over looks the golf course for almost every meal. The lanai has ceiling fans and shades to wind down in the afternoon which keeps the condo from becoming too hot. We used the barbecue on several occasions. The condo is stocked with every cooking appliance and utensil you could possibly need as well as cleaning/ laundry supplies and beach/outing extras(too many to describe) etc. I loved the fact that this complex is basically the last complex on Alii Dr. You are close enough to Kona and to Keauhou shopping centre but still seemed very quiet. There was Wifi, TV, books etc available as well as a hand book with tips about sights around the island. I loved having access to the lanai off the Master bedroom as well as the living room, we slept with the patio doors open for the breeze to blow through. Pat and Jim were quick to respond to our emails and easy to deal with. We really enjoyed our stay on the Big Island and would recommend this condo."
