  • Great Location, Awesome Rental

"This property was awesome for our family. We enjoyed the A/C, the huge great room and the overall feel of the home. We liked the walking distance (no stairs) to get to the home. Amenities for the outdoor beach going and pool area were a great asset as well. The only teeny problem was that the toilet in the master bedroom leaked some water, but it was easily fixable with a towel to soak up that. Will stay again and again."

  • Great Location and great amenities

"Just got back from two fantastic weeks at Mele Kai @ Kahalu’u Beach. Two years ago we stayed at the property next door, Hale O Makai, also owned by Simmy and Michael with a smaller party of five. This year we needed more space to accommodate 6 adults and 3 children under 4 and were lucky enough to rent Mele Kai. Not only are all the pictures and descriptions spot on, Simmy and Michael are wonderful to work with and truly go above and beyond to make your stay unforgettable. If you don’t see something that you can’t live without, mention it to Simmy and she has always been able to accommodate. Lots of equipment for beach going including boogie boards, coolers, umbrellas, and currently beach chairs with shoulder straps so you can really load up for the day. There were toys galore for the little ones for both land and water. The wading pool shared by the two houses was really appreciated in the heat of July to cool down. The lanai is the highlight of the house and she has a little child gate to close one end so the kids didn’t get away from us. I know the nearby amenities are listed with the house amenities, but I want to push them all anyway since they are just as important as the house. There is shoreline access almost directly across from the house with a tiny sand area and, depending on tides and experience, you can get in the water there, but it is a rock entrance. The sandy beach park is 4 minutes walk away…or 7 if you meander looking at the flowers and great water views between the houses on the way. Kahalu’u is a great beach park with multiple water entrances and depending on the tides a nice little pool forms below one of the lifeguard stands, great for sitting and playing with little ones in the water while gentle waves wash through occasionally. There was also a food truck with snacks and the all important SHAVE ICE! Turtle viewing from above and below water is almost guaranteed. When I was coordinating this trip with multiple families I used Google Earth to show them distances and where the sand was. This location and rental was exactly what our large family needed with plenty of private/quite areas for those needing naps or less family time! Already repeat customers and Simmy will be the first person we contact on our next trip."

  • Great time in August 2015

"We stayed for eight nights and just loved this cozy little surfside nest. Highly recommended for couples who don't mind the waves swooping in to 10 feet from the lanai. Watch the surfers just offshore all day long. Turtles surface frequently for a gulp of air. And if you like snorkeling like we do, the most accessible snorkeling hole on the whole Kona side of the island is a walk, literally a WALK down the word at Kahalu'u Beach Park. Owner Julie is great to work with, very quick to communicate, with clear information. We plan to be back."

  • Excellent Condo at Keauhou Bay

"This was our second stay in this condo at Keauhou Punahele. Both the condo and the complex are very well maintained. The condo is well stocked in the kitchen and has plenty of linens, including nice beach towels. The complex was very quiet in the evenings. Although we did not use the pool, it looked very nice. We enjoyed dinner at Sam Choys, which is very close, and would also recommend the Big Island Grill in town, a favorite with locals. For delicious burgers, try Island Ono Loa Grill (behind Lava Java on Allii Drive). I especially liked that this condo is on the second level so that you have a nice ocean view past the golf course; however, it is on the same level as the parking lot, so there are not any stairs, and the parking space for the condo is right in front of the condo. We would definitely recommend this condo and hope to return for another visit in the future."
