  • Hawaiian Paradise

"I don't even know where to begin. The house is exceptionally well appointed. It was perfect for a personal piece of Hawaiian coastal heaven for my husband and I, but it would be fabulous for families or couples to share. The layout provides ample views, yet private space for all. The views are spectacular. We spent hours on the lanai watching the ocean. We saw whales, spinner dolphins and flying fish. A whale even breached about 500 yards off shore right in front of us. It was one of the most amazing sights I have ever witnessed. The lava flows, sea cliffs and sea caves are a wonder to explore and just steps away. On calm days explore the sea caves. If the swells get big, just sit back and watch the show! And the sea can't put on a spectacles show indeed! If it is calm you can drop in to the ocean for kayaking, paddling boarding. The sunsets are amazing. The stars at night glorious. The moon will light up the ocean as the sound of the waves lull you to sleep. If you pick up ample supplies and groceries in Hilo on your way in, you will never have to leave and probably will never want to! Yet, there is so much to explore on the island. Snorkeling abounds - AMAZING! Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park is a must. We were fortunate enough to be here when the lava tube was flowing into the ocean. Go to the visitor's center after dark and see the glow of the caldera. On the way stop by Punalu'u Bake Shop, the southernmost bakery in the US, and try their fresh Hawaiian sweet bread and lilikoi malasada. And don't miss the turtles at the Black Sand Beach. It's all short excursion from your home away from home in paradise. We have rented twice now from the Jensen's. We loved both of their Miloli'i properties. If you want paradise away from it all, but with all the appointments of a high-end resort, you can't lose with any of the Jensen's Miloli'i properties! Thanks Elaine and Ole. See you next year!!"

  • Lovely home and location

"This was a wonderful home for my family of 9 adults for 10 days. There was plenty of room and space for all of us. Loved the covered lanai on the back. This is a great location- close enough to Kona and beaches but far enough from all the hustle and bustle. We were able to explore all of the island from here. The house is well taken care of and is in a beautiful location -- more tropical than the Kohala coast area. We would definitely rent this home again. Thanks Tim and Abbie."

"Lovely cabin mid-way between Kona and Volcano: you can access either in under an hour. Beautiful, well appointed and private guest cabin with great and generous amenities, fruit and basics awaiting, a bbq, etc., and fabulous views!!!!"

  • Truly our home away from home!

"Our extended family of 8 had a great time in the Papa Bay house. The property was everything it was advertised to be: well maintained, lots of space, and a well-stocked kitchen and linen cupboard (which was particularly important to us given we were planning to do a significant amount of cooking and had water activities planned for most days that we were on the Big Island). We especially liked the location - sort of halfway between Kona and Hilo - because it allowed us to get to attractions/activities on both coasts without long driving times. The laundry room was big and the washer/dryer were huge, allowing us to clean and dry our wet suits, swim gear, beach towels, etc. quickly and efficiently. John made the booking process very easy and was readily available to answer questions both before and during our stay. The place was secluded and quiet (which is what we wanted), but we did have to keep our windows closed at night to avoid being disturbed by the local roosters and turkeys. Overall, it was a great experience and we would highly recommend this Papa Bay home, especially for larger groups and families."
