  • Really nice and clean home, great ocean views

"We really enjoyed this wonderful home. Very nicely outfitted with all the comforts of home. Views are fantastic. All the snorkeling and activity gear you would need is provided. Black pebble beach within walking distance down a steep hill. 20min to the famed 'two step' snorkeling spot next to the 'Place of Refuge' in Captain Cook. Definitely a place to 'get away' from the hustle and bustle of Kona (about 40 min drive south). Only reason 4 out of 5 stars is for 6 people, the third bedroom is downstairs without a bathroom and you have to go outside up the stairs to get into the house. Parents needed bathroom, kids scared to sleep by themselves, we managed no problem, but should be noted if traveling with 6 people."

  • Unique, Quiet, Secluded, Scenic, Comfortable Vacation Rental

"This is not your typical Hawaiian setting. But, if you are up for a unique and interesting place to stay, this is for you. After a 2-hour drive from Kona, we arrived in Ocean View and stopped at the Malama Mkt. for food and other supplies. We were pleasantly surprised that this market had everything we needed for our 5-night stay. We drove about 4 miles down towards the ocean through the rocky lava landscape and found our rental. This one-bedroom unit is on the ground level below the main house. Besides the bedroom, there is a small kitchen, bathroom and comfortable living area. It was nice to have a pool to ourselves. The people of Ocean View are friendly, and everyone we encountered warmly welcomed us to the area. Our activities included: a hike down to the ocean (hot, no shade, pack water), a bike ride out to the lave flow, a fun time at Uncle Roberts, an interesting visit to a local coffee farm, and a delightful experience at the free community Christmas celebration in the park. If you are looking for a different Hawaii experience, we suggest you give this a try."

  • Hawaiian Paradise

"I don't even know where to begin. The house is exceptionally well appointed. It was perfect for a personal piece of Hawaiian coastal heaven for my husband and I, but it would be fabulous for families or couples to share. The layout provides ample views, yet private space for all. The views are spectacular. We spent hours on the lanai watching the ocean. We saw whales, spinner dolphins and flying fish. A whale even breached about 500 yards off shore right in front of us. It was one of the most amazing sights I have ever witnessed. The lava flows, sea cliffs and sea caves are a wonder to explore and just steps away. On calm days explore the sea caves. If the swells get big, just sit back and watch the show! And the sea can't put on a spectacles show indeed! If it is calm you can drop in to the ocean for kayaking, paddling boarding. The sunsets are amazing. The stars at night glorious. The moon will light up the ocean as the sound of the waves lull you to sleep. If you pick up ample supplies and groceries in Hilo on your way in, you will never have to leave and probably will never want to! Yet, there is so much to explore on the island. Snorkeling abounds - AMAZING! Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park is a must. We were fortunate enough to be here when the lava tube was flowing into the ocean. Go to the visitor's center after dark and see the glow of the caldera. On the way stop by Punalu'u Bake Shop, the southernmost bakery in the US, and try their fresh Hawaiian sweet bread and lilikoi malasada. And don't miss the turtles at the Black Sand Beach. It's all short excursion from your home away from home in paradise. We have rented twice now from the Jensen's. We loved both of their Miloli'i properties. If you want paradise away from it all, but with all the appointments of a high-end resort, you can't lose with any of the Jensen's Miloli'i properties! Thanks Elaine and Ole. See you next year!!"
