  • Great place to stay!

"House was good size, shower and bedroom are large. The house is decorated nice and has all the amenities needed. Fully equipped kitchen, great internet and cable TV. Location was fantastic, right across the street from a top snorkel beach and can see the ocean from all floors and listen to the waves all night. Close to restaurants and shopping. The shopping center just down the road has everything you need, including a prompt care in case you need stitches. Will definitely stay here again."

  • Such a relaxing Oasis

"Located within a quiet gated resort, this gem of a condo was on the ocean - so close ocean spray would condense on the lanai screen at night. We were surprised that the place was actually larger than anticipated making our stay that much more enjoyable. The lack of AC wasn't an issue as we left the lanai doors and windows open during the night with fans pulling in the cool night air (80's during the day, 70's during the night). The kitchen was fully stocked with fun cookware and dishes, this foodie was very pleased. A view of the ocean while cooking was spectacular and eating on the lanai was a regular event so we could enjoy watching the birds and ocean waves...even saw spinner dolphins! The beds were comfortable, linens nice quality. Over-sized artwork adorns the walls, making the condo very homey with a lived in feel. We would fall asleep with the ocean waves and awake with the chirping of birds (Nature lovers delight). The master bedroom opens to the living space via three large oriental papery sliding doors - we thought this was great, but might not be for some folks that require more privacy. The TV and electronics are a little dated but realized after we left that we didn't use any of them - the lanai was where we spent the majority of our evenings and all our breakfasts. The condo, since it is on the ocean and near the salty air, has some rust marks on a couple light fixtures and a couple oddly locking doors, but this just added to the overall character. This location is less than 5 minutes from the Kahaluu beach park which is an excellent snorkeling and surfing area. 5 min the other direction is KTA market where you will find Poke and other fresh local ingredients for your favorite recipes. We loved this condo, the location, and look forward to returning someday. My only hope upon our return is so see replacement artwork in the master bedroom - it's become very faded. If you love to be lulled to sleep by the ocean, cook some great meals, and stretch out and relax - this is your oasis. Mahalo!"

  • Perfect Quiet Hideaway

"Thank you to Jinger and Roger for sharing their place with us! The unit was as described with a very well outfitted kitchen. We especially appreciated having tupperware to use for our picnic lunches while out sightseeing. The unit was clean and the provided beach equipment and towels were appreciated and in great condition. The location was very convenient in terms of access to the highway, airport and shops (groceries, gas, etc.). Walking distance to Alii Drive is a huge bonus! This gave us easy access to restaurants, shops and the beach! The view was truly beautiful and we enjoyed sitting out in the morning and evening. Although other units are close by, you don't hear other people very much at all making for great night sleeps. The pool area was spotless and deserted when we used it and made for a quiet and refreshing afternoon. Extra touches like flowers and champagne (for our honeymoon) were very much appreciated and made the stay more homey and personal. We had one small problem connecting to the internet when we first arrived, but it was solved quickly. We emailed late at night and Roger responded to us before we even woke up. His suggested troubleshooting approach worked perfectly. We would definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to find ourselves back on The Big Island! It truly is the perfect little hideaway and home base to use while enjoying the splendour of the island."

  • Fantastic Week!

"We had a fantastic week, based at the Kahala'u Beach Villas. The unit is very comfortable and it was spectacular to walk to excellent snorkeling! As described, it is a walk up to the third level, but that never bothered us. Also really great for day trips both north and south. April was always very quick to respond if we had any questions. Thank you for making our first visit to the Big Island so special."
