  • Amazing location!

"We loved staying in this condo because it was quiet and off the beaten path from most activity in the condo complex. Building five is secluded and offers incredible views of the ocean. Unit 201 was ideal because of its wrap around lanai and many ways to access this lanai. Because of the central island in the kitchen area, the condo was incredibly spacious and well laid out. It had more than we needed in terms of kitchen furnishings. The shower water wasn't very hot so we called Ken and he came over the next day to adjust it for us - much thanks! Though it was very muggy and warm during our stay in May, the ceiling fans kept the place very cool. My husband would have enjoyed having air conditioning but I don't believe any of the units have it and I was more comfortable without it. The sliding screens in the master bedroom offered privacy for my husband and I but of course was not soundproof! Our adult children were in the second bedroom (definitely warmer than the front of the condo) but when anyone was in the kitchen, it would have been nice to have the sound proofing. We really enjoyed the modernization of this unit with gorgeous counters and floors and would highly recommend staying here. We will strongly consider it again!"

  • A True Hawaiian family reunion before a loved one passed

"NO. No one died here. This was a place of reunion and solitude for immediate family members for ONE LAST MEMORY..... AND So... Everything was beautiful, practical and more than accommodating - from check in to check out. Richard, my contact and I believe may be the owner, is a humanitarian with an honest business sense that in this day and age, is quite hard to find. Our stay was very sweet, and Hale Lani will FOREVER be in our hearts for the memories made. This is a place that is NOT to be ignored. This needs to be at the TOP of every vacation rental list when pondering places to stay in the magnificent island of Hawai'i, home of the active volcanoes and every other magic that the other Hawaiian Islands provide. Thank you, Richard, and those who helped us find comfort and solace in our stay. From the bottom of our hearts, Me Ke Aloha Pumehana, ame Malama Pono!!! Sweet Aloha from the nine of Us Kahumoku(s): Mervin, Jr., Emmajean Umauma, Kahealani, Keikimakamae, Ali'ilaniloa, Ekolu, Lahela, Keli'i, and Puanani Kahumoku."

  • Perfect place to stay in Kona

"Very nice condo just south of Kona village, right on the best beach in the area. Huge balcony on two sides. Convenient with parking spot under the apartment and a bus stop if you dont feel like taking your car into town. Surfing lesson and great snorkelling just a mile south on Kahaluu Beach. We enjoyed our stay very much"

  • Both thumbs up!

"This was an excellent find, thanks to the verbal recommendation from a friend at work. We've stayed just a few doors down from this place a few years ago. The location is perfect; quiet, significantly cooler than down below, clean air, no traffic, VERY narrow road but residents are accommodating (make sure your car has enough power to climb---no you don't need a 4 wheel drive), abundance of avocados, wonderful banana bread (Gretchen, would you share your recipe?), and last, but not least, the best coffee on the planet right there where it is grown. You won't be sorry in booking this gem of a find."
