  • Perfect Hawaii vacation

"My husband and I and are two adult children decided to ditch the turkey and tinsel and instead, have a family Christmas vacation in Hawaii. We had a wonderful time! The owners were very responsive and easy to work with. They provided us with easy to follow directions and a host of ideas as to what we could see and do during our stay. We stayed for 6 nights and it provided us with a comfortable base to discover Big Island. We drove across to the Hilo side of the island to visit the National Volcanoes Park which was really interesting but it made us glad we had chosen the Kona side for our main accommodation as the beaches are so much nicer on this side. Our favorite beach was just north of the airport and required about a mile long drive down an unmade road but it was worth the effort as I got to swim with so many turtles! The complex was beautifully maintained and the pool and Jacuzzi area was never overcrowded. The views of sunset from the pool area were amazing! The accommodation is spacious and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans and having the washer and dryer to use was very helpful. Perhaps the only issue we had was that the internet Wi-Fi signal wasn't very good. It is about a 20 minute walk into the center of Kona where there are plenty of bars and places to eat. We had such a great time and if we ever return to Big Island we would try and stay here again."

  • Beautiful!

"My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. When we first checked in, the management company saw that we were staying in A5 and their response was "You have the most beautiful condo at Kona Reef!"- and they were right. The pictures don't do it justice. You can tell that there was a lot of attention to detail and effort put into making this place special. The location also doesn't hurt. The lanai is feet from the ocean, and the condo just a short walk into the heart of Kona. We were there over the 4th of July and got to watch the fireworks over Kailua Bay right from our lanai with a glass of wine in hand- perfect!. Great sunset views as well. We only had one hiccup while we were there when the A/C unit gave out in the middle of the night. We let the management company know first thing the next morning and they came right out and had it fixed ASAP. We were impressed with their efforts to take care of the problem quickly. We will definitely stay here again when we are able to come back and have already recommended this specific condo to many people! Thank you for having us!"

  • Exceeded Our Expectations

"We really enjoyed our two weeks in this unit. We have stayed at this condo location many times over the past 15 years, in a variety of units. We love the layout of the complex; its garden area, with water features, plants and flowers, the fresh water pool in the middle of the courtyard, the cabana/BBQ area, second pool, and man-made sand beach on the "dry" side of the seawall. Over the years, upgrades have been made and this is still one of the best condo complexes on the Island. First time we stayed on the third floor, and we got a lot of additional exercise using the stairs (there's an elevator on the same level just steps from our condo entrance). There was a change in ownership after we booked the condo, but there were no problems in the transition. In fact, the property manager (Lori) for the new owner met us at the unit the night we arrived. She provided a tour and answered questions, and made us feel very welcome. The unit was very nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was larger than most, with two entrances (from the bedroom & hallway). All the appliances worked, including the clothes washer & dryer. There was a minor problem with the living room TV remote control, but that should be resolved by now. Plenty of towels, and many other extras in the unit, but some small beach chairs & coolers would be nice additions. While we adapted, an upgrade to the furniture would be a plus. From the third floor lanai there is more than a partial view of the ocean, as well as Hualalai Mountain, plus a great view of the courtyard's garden area. This lanai also adds additional private living space, that a ground floor unit does not. The Casa is just a little over a mile from town, a nice early morning walk for coffee and/or breakfast. All in all, we would rate this condo a 4.7 or 4.8 out of 5.0, and would look to stay in this condo again."

  • hideaway

"What a unique place that we loved! Being all screened in, you can really take in the Hawaii air and sounds (bring earplugs, the critters outside are very loud). The private outside area and shower are surrounded by trees, plants, and flowers-so beautiful. I enjoyed watching the sun go down as I took a shower! The space was comfortable, and it was nice having netflix to relax to before bed. Two Step was so great for snorkeling and its so close to the hideaway-highly recommend!"
