  • WOW!!!

"Over the years, we’ve been blessed to have the opportunity to stay in some lovely villas during our travels, but I must say that the sight that met us when we first opened the stained-glass front door of Maka Nui nearly took our breath away. It is an exceptionally lovely home – with ornate furnishings and exquisite artwork, a fabulous Jacuzzi tub, a huge double shower, a well-appointed kitchen, and a wonderfully comfy king-size bed. The beautiful, rambling interior is surrounded by a screened-in lanai that looks out across the green hillside down onto Kealakekua Bay. We so enjoyed our evenings on the lanai reading – a delightful cool breeze blowing up from the sea, the faint song of the coqui competing with the Hawaiian music we had softly playing in the background. The grounds are gorgeous: acres of coffee trees, fruit trees, and fragrant flowers, with a much-appreciated impeccably-maintained swimming pool next to the house. Candi was such a gracious, considerate host, and welcomed us with a lovely basket of fruit, coffee, and chocolate macadamias. She is such a delightful, friendly soul – immediately there if we needed something or had a question, but otherwise completely respected our privacy. We loved this part of the island – so very lush and tropical. Maka Nui is very private, very quiet, and very safe. Located down from the Captain Cook area, on Napo’opo’o road, it is off the beaten path, yet not very far from good beaches, good snorkeling, shopping, sightseeing, etc. We SO enjoyed our stay there!"

  • Beautiful Condo ... Right on the Beach

"This delightful condo has a beach front location, on the 2nd floor, with superb ocean views and stunning sunsets. The owners were easy to contact and very helpful regarding all aspects of the rental process. The best rating/recommendation is the fact that we've already booked our stay for next year!"

  • Perfect for The price

"I was a great place for my family. Much cleaner and nicer than I expected. Very reasonable price. It would have been perfect other than the people in the unit below us parked in our spot a few times and we didn't have AC, but with windows open and fans it was ok."

  • All the conviences of home

"Relaxing stay. All the conveniences of home including washer/dryer and a dish washer. Enjoyed cooking down by the pool and visiting with other guests/residents as we watched the sunset each night. We heard that the snorkeling is great at the shore access by the pool, but the surf seemed rough for us beginners. Only negative was the walk uphill to the parking lot (luggage, groceries, gear, etc). There are a couple of wagons available to borrow to assist with carrying heavy items. Having air conditioning was wonderful since we are used to a cooler climate (Oregon). Such a relief to sleep in a cool bedroom. The lanai is nice for coffee in the morning. The gardens are lush and beautiful and attract lots of birds and a few geckos. Made for great pictures. Couch is not a futon but still a comfortable bed. Very helpful and responsive owner. Plan to come back next year"
