  • A little piece of paradise.

"The condo was perfect for our stay. It was large, and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with all the little things you don't get with a time share like a large spice collection, boogie boards, beach chairs, and a cooler. The building was along the run course for the Kona Ironman so my wife and friends got to see the leaders, and eventually me, from just in front of the building. There's a nice sand beach right across the street, and another about a mile down the road. Between the breeze and all the ceiling fans, we were comfortable with the air conditioning off and the doors open. There's a nice grill too. The only downsides I can remember was an intermittent wifi that needed to be reset every few days, and a broken chair in the dining room."

  • Awesome view Great stay

"The owners are absolutely awesome and very family oriented. I am rating my stay a 4 star because there were a few things that are not necessarily the property owners fault but un acceptable in my book. We arrived and the house was supposed to be open but it was not. We waited on the lanai for about an hour after arrival to get in but once inside we were very happy with the spaciousness of the property. The next day we left and when we returned we found that the key did not work!!!!! I ended up finding a way in through a unsecured screen window. There were many fruit tree that had fruit and Charles allowed us to pick and eat the papayas, bananas, avocados and macadamias. The kids had a blast searching the property for food. On the down side there were very many geckos in the house, they don’t bother me but my mom was terrified and did not sleep the whole vacation. The floors were extremely creaky especially in the hall to the master bedroom which also has the main bathroom so we were constantly waking up to kids using the facilities. Cockroaches and ants are a problem here as well. I was told in the beginning to keep it clean to avoid ants so we did, but I did not expect to wake up and realize my toothbrush would be swarming with ants (there was a colony on there no joke, I washed about 200 or more off before I could use it). I wish I had taken a picture…. The beach items were awesome but I would not use the snorkels and mask because they may not have been cleaned, so I brought my own, if there were cleaning supplies in the house and Clorox wipes I would have been happier. over all I would give Charles a 5-star rating and his property management company a 3-star rating. I would definitely stay here again because it feels like a home!"

  • WOW!!!

"Over the years, we’ve been blessed to have the opportunity to stay in some lovely villas during our travels, but I must say that the sight that met us when we first opened the stained-glass front door of Maka Nui nearly took our breath away. It is an exceptionally lovely home – with ornate furnishings and exquisite artwork, a fabulous Jacuzzi tub, a huge double shower, a well-appointed kitchen, and a wonderfully comfy king-size bed. The beautiful, rambling interior is surrounded by a screened-in lanai that looks out across the green hillside down onto Kealakekua Bay. We so enjoyed our evenings on the lanai reading – a delightful cool breeze blowing up from the sea, the faint song of the coqui competing with the Hawaiian music we had softly playing in the background. The grounds are gorgeous: acres of coffee trees, fruit trees, and fragrant flowers, with a much-appreciated impeccably-maintained swimming pool next to the house. Candi was such a gracious, considerate host, and welcomed us with a lovely basket of fruit, coffee, and chocolate macadamias. She is such a delightful, friendly soul – immediately there if we needed something or had a question, but otherwise completely respected our privacy. We loved this part of the island – so very lush and tropical. Maka Nui is very private, very quiet, and very safe. Located down from the Captain Cook area, on Napo’opo’o road, it is off the beaten path, yet not very far from good beaches, good snorkeling, shopping, sightseeing, etc. We SO enjoyed our stay there!"

  • Great Vacation

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed Casa De Emdeko 338 for 5 nights in Sep. Overall, we enjoyed staying this beautiful 2 beds & 2 Bath rooms condo. I was skeptical about this place until I opened the entrance door because pictures I saw online were too good to be true. However, this condo was exactly same as pictures. The L shape Balcony was the best of best. There are plenty of spaces for two breakfast tables with four chairs, two sundeck chairs with sofa. We spent all day at balcony, just listening sounds of ocean with nice cold drinks. It was THE vacation. Kitchen was outdated but good size and functioning. I found water leak in the fridge but it was not major. so we just avoided the spot that water was leaking. There are two single beds in the small bedroom and queen size bed in the master bedroom. Although single beds were bit small for adults but all beds were very comfortable. Major issue was draining at both bathrooms. Especially, the shower room in the master bedroom was really bad. I needed to shut water off often to wait to drain while taking shower. This condo does not provide much provision. I was optimistic about it although instruction indicated they provide " only starter kit" because our stay was only 5 nights. But I was very wrong about it, There were only two dishwasher detergents and three rolls of toilet papers. It would have been nice if they stock little bit more. Over all, we had wonderful time and we would love to come back soon."
