"Clean, bright, and organized, as expected. Myself and wife had this unit for a week. Location is everything, and this specific unit was excellent for location. First, it's located in the best spot in the complex. Close to park aid/entrance, close to pool entrance, over looks the pool, and the ocean, and you get the sunsets at night, which is a perfect end to the day, and great start to the evening. The location of the complex is key, as it's just on the edge of the strip of restaurants, and shopping, so you never say no to walking into town for a drink, dinner, or a nightly ice cream. The WIFI was good, and we were able to access it from the pool area on our phones. The unit had two portable fans, which help with temperature regulation while sleeping. Came with most float toys, and beach supplies. The kitchen was well stocked for the two of us. Everyone in the complex was super nice, travellers and staff. We will request this unit specifically if we return to Kona. - British Columbia, Canada"

  • Big Island Christmas Adventure

"Let me start this review by saying that I started my search for lodging much later than I should have. My wife and I had never visited Hawaii during the holiday's. Luckily for us, Gayle's condo was still available. Having stayed in Keauhou during our previous trips, we prefer this location, which adds to excitement of visiting Kona in the evening, and reaching out to all the destinations during the day. The condo was very comfortable and well setup. The teenage boys immediately took over the upstairs, where there is a fabulous 60" TV, and of course is closer to the refrigerator. My wife and I claimed the downstairs, which has one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. There is no AC in the unit, but the airflow, combined with ample fans, made the evenings very comfortable. The condo is well stocked with towels, linens, and other essentials. I especially appreciated the washer/dryer. In summary, I was very happy with the condo, the location, the view from the lanai(s), the swimming pools, and lastly, with the interaction with Gayle before and during our stay."

  • Lovely place

"We enjoyed our stay at Janine's condo very much. It is a lovely unit with pretty views toward the garden areas. The location is very nice as it is close to the pool and in close walking distance to the beach where we would spend each evening watching the sunset. It is also within walking distance to several restaurants and activities. Janine was very helpful to us from the beginning of our reservation to the end of our stay."

  • Extraordinarily Comfortable and Refreshing

"Mango cottage offers an ideal retreat destination, not just a place to stay while visiting the Big Island. The spacious and beautifully maintained garden, with hot tub and private lawn area, includes an extraordinary variety of plantings that bloom year-round. The cottage itself is extremely comfortable and appealing in terms of the interior decor, layout, natural lighting, furnishings, kitchen appliances, bedding and bathroom provisions. We appreciated finding a variety of well-chosen beach equipment - towels, water shoes, snorkeling gear, folding chairs, etc. All of that is stored in a spacious and well-organized area under the porch, along with a washer and dryer. Drive time to downtown Kailua-Kona and Kona Airport is modest, about fifteen minutes to both areas, and well worth the trip, certainly much better - for those wanting relaxation time - than staying in the busy congestion of condos and hotels by the sea. As presented by the owners, Mango Cottage has a Buddhist ambience, inside and out, that would make it ideal for writing a book, renewing a marriage, or resting from a major project. Maybe the owner's commitment to rest and relaxation explains the complete lack of any beverages with caffeine (ie tea or coffee) in the other-wise well-stocked kitchen. That minor deficiency is my only criticism. Mango Cottage was so delightful that we drove away with high hopes of making a return visit. We will recommend it to all our friends."
