  • Beautiful, relaxing, and clean

"We had a great time at Mango Cottage. Everything was perfect. There is not one thing I would change about this rental. It was beautiful inside and out. Relaxing garden with green lawn, fruit trees, plants, flowers, and multiple sitting areas. BBQ area, spa, and lanai were all clean and ready for use. We watched the sunset from the lanai every night, it was gorgeous. The location is a short drive to Kona Town, beaches, and food. This location is also convenient for day trips and sight seeing on this side of the island. The bed was comfy, bathroom was spacious, and there were ceiling fans in every room. We stayed here mid July and the cottage was always a nice temp. If you are headed out to the beach take advantage of all the beach supplies stored under the cottage. Chairs, ice chests, umbrella, boogie boards, noodles, fins, masks, and even a small pop up sun shade. All clean and organized nicely. There are beach towels upstairs in the house as well. The hosts Bob and Christine were so nice. They have a great eye for landscaping and interior design. Everything from arrival instructions, check in, and check out was a breeze. Bob greeted us with a smile and inside the cottage there was some cold beer in the fridge and some fresh bananas and avocados in the fruit bowl. I can't say enough nice things about this place. We have been telling everyone who will listen to us how awesome Mango Cottage is. We hope to return soon with our son and stay here again. Thanks again Bob and Christine!!"

  • Great place to stay for one or two people.

"My husband found the listing for the Little Surf Shack and all the reviews had five stars. So we booked for two weeks. Easy to find with our GPS, located high up and back from the Kona Airport. No plane noise, an expansive view, the house has lovely gardens, enough storage for our items, a small refrigerator, coffee maker and other items you want. We prepared our breakfasts using the hot plate and pans, and there is a grill on the lanai that we did not use, the lanai provides additional space to walk out on or relax at the table. Plenty of towels are provided. There was a beach umbrella, two beach chairs, and two boogie boards which we used nearly daily. The neighborhood is residential and we enjoyed our stay always looking forward to returning to the the Little Surf Shack to relax until the next day of adventure on this our now favorite Hawaiian island the Big Island. Thanks again Amy for providing wonderful accommodations and your Aloha spirit."

  • We loved our time at the Hidaway

"My husband and I stayed at the Hideaway for a week in mid July. We loved the jungle-like atmosphere and the attentiveness of the managers. The location is ideal for day trips all around the island. Responses to our inquiries with the manager were quick and efficient. Our comfort was very important to them. We were able to enjoy many of the fresh fruits growing on the property. We used the hot-tub every night and the outdoor shower even more often - so nice! Our stay helped to solidify our desire to move to the Big Island permanently."

  • Michele H & friends

"Five of us arrived a day before the other three. The home was clean with a welcoming tropical bouquet. This was located fairly central to the best snorkeling there is. The home was not in a gated community but was safe and we felt that we belonged in the neighborhood. Costco and Walmart were close by for our groceries and disposables. The timing on the pool water falls and filter could have been on longer into the evening, but this is a group preference. The managers were accommodating and helpful. We could not get a bank of electrical outlets to work, that was cared for the next day; the ice maker didn't work the first four days due to waiting for a part. ( That could not be helped). We had an abundance of socializing areas and the lanai was our best gathering spot for laughter and sharing stories at days end. We would sincerely like to return here and do this all over again. So much better than some hotel room or one bedroom condo. Thank you for sharing!!!"
