  • Nice condo in great location

"I was very pleased with the condo. It was clean and well stocked with kitchen supplies. We really enjoyed relaxing on the large lanai in the evenings. We did make use of the lovely warm pool as well as the BBQ area. It is in a great location close to many restaurants and central to many places we wanted to visit. My only complaint would be the traffic noise heard from the bedroom. We wouldn't hesitate staying here again."

  • Great Place to Stay in Kailua-Kona

"We enjoyed our experience with this condo, from talking with the helpful owner before booking to our stay for our Hawaiian vacation. We found the condo to be exactly as described and pictured in the VRBO listing. The sound of the surf is a constant fixture and although there are other people around, it was rare to hear them while we were there. Looking out on the ocean from the lanai we could almost always see surfers and could often see turtles. (If they couldn't be seen from the lanai, we could find them a short walk down the shoreline.) It is nearby the great restaurants in Kailua, although not within a comfortable walking distance. Parking was very convenient at the complex and we never had a problem getting anywhere. While we were there we took a helicopter tour, swam with the dolphins, and visited a seahorse farm. I would recommend this condo to others and would stay here again if we return."

  • Perfect cabin, location and host

"My husband and I spent 17 lovely days in Granma's cabin near Kona. This was our second visit to the island and preferred this location and home to our first VRBO south of Captain Cook. As we were arriving very late, we greatly appreciated Harry having purchased some wine, beer and cream for us - this allowed for a relaxing drink before bed and a good coffee on our first morning. The location is perfect - 15 min from Kona - close to two major highways to travel around the island, and 15 min to the beaches. The elevation is equally perfect - high enough to be cool in the evenings (18C or 65F) and warm during the day (27C and 81F) - and moist enough to support lush vegetation but not rainy. The lanai was exceptional - we dined each morning listening to the birds and looking down to the sea. The size of the lanai was such that you could seek sun or shade at most times of the day. No bugs to pester you. Beautiful trees and flowers adorned the property - cardinals, doves and many types of finches fed at Harry's feeder each day. Lovely Madagascar geckos visited each morning following breakfast. We cooked all our meals at the cabin - the kitchen was complete - we used the stove, oven, microwave, coffee grinder, coffee maker and gas barbecue. There was plenty of hot water and we appreciated the washer dryer off the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable - this was an important feature for me. The internet speed was fast - we both did some work each morning and the connections were excellent. The neighbourhood was quiet and we took evening walks before dusk. The Big Island Running company was a good source for running company and running route advice. There were lots of beach supplies as well - snorkels, fins, mask, chairs, umbrellas, boogey boards, water shoes and towels. Harry was an excellent host - close when needed and at the same time was respectful of our privacy. Harry was generous - providing delicious avocados, grapefruit, freshly squeezed lemon juice and macadamia nuts. Harry is also an award winning brewer and shared a number of his beer with us. Admittedly, I prefer dark beer - I was privileged to sample 3 different types of Harry's beer - and they were all exceptional - dark to light in colour - truly award winning. The cabin is welcoming and comfortable and would love to make a return visit."

  • Very Nice Stay at this Mauna Lani Villa on Big Island

"This is a very good place to stay on Big Island. Very nice and clean place with 3 bedrooms, 2 and half bath, kitchen/Dinning and living room.Additionally complex has great swimming pool, well equipped Gym, many shops near by and Foodland (Voted best super market chain in Hawaii) for Grocery and food items. Mauna Lani has nice white sand private beach and black sand public beach with nearby Golf club. Kona Airport is near by and at about 30 miles from this place you get all the shops and city glitz you want from Kona coast on Big Island. Mauna Lani shops have free Hawaiian Dance event at 7 PM on every Monday and Thursday, its great dance show twice a week.We found once issue that Master bedroom does not lock but other than that everything is perfect, over all great place."
