  • Lovely Home!

"We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. It is well-stocked with kitchen gear, linens, and two beach towels. There are two spacious bedrooms, with an en-suite bathroom off the master bedroom and an additional bathroom down the hall. We stayed here comfortably with our family of four. The home was very clean and updated. The best part of the entire home is by far the enclosed and covered lanai. We spent MANY afternoons and evenings just relaxing in the comfortable patio furniture in the nice breeze. There is good internet in the home and Dish network television. Our family truly enjoyed our extended stay in this lovely home. The only downside is that the yard is all lava rock and there are no large established trees for shade. However, this is clear from the pictures and there are many trees planted to provide shade in the future. The homeowner, Tamara, was very helpful throughout our stay and responded to our communications quickly. Thank you for making your home available to us, Tamara! We highly recommend this home to others."

  • Cleanest house on the Big Island

"The Tiki's Hut house is a two bedroom one bath with a nice size living room and a spacious full kitchen placed on about 10 foot stilts that allow for great trade wind flow all through the house. There were several stand out things that come to mind when I think about writing this review but the one thing that stands alone is how clean the house and yard was. That being said the Lanai was huge with plenty of seating at the table for 8 plus room to move about the Lanai while barbecuing, eating or just relaxing. Then there were the two yards that were kept very clean with lots of different fruits to pick and beautiful flowers to enjoy. It really was nice to just stroll about looking at all the obvious and hidden plants, flowers and fresh food items. Also the full size washer and dryer was a plus before moving over to the Kona side of the island. The host made it very easy to access the gate and door codes giving us a very private, comfortable (and again clean) place to relax, sleep and eat while on the Hilo side of the Big Island. This house would be hard to top in this area of Hawaii and in this price range. A+++++++++++ As an avid hiker, diver and Lava enthusiast I really liked the close proximity (about a 20 minute drive) to the end of Hwy 130 on the Kalapana side of the current Lava Flowing into the Pacific Ocean. Also the Ocean and the Kapoho tide pools were just a short drive away."

  • Gorgeous home and surrounding Gardens!!

"We rented this home over the Thanksgiving holiday while visiting a family member at the University. The home is fully stocked with everything you need and grounds are beautiful! We even picked our own citrus out front and make fresh lemonade and made a beautiful bouquet for the Thanksgiving table. Melanie was wonderful to work with and even had great suggestions on where to eat out. Don't hesitate to rent this lovely property!"

  • back again for more Aloha and relaxation

"We stayed at the Cedar House 5 years ago to celebrate our 25th anniversary, and it was a no-brainer where we wanted to return for our 30th. The house was the perfect blend of relaxation and "things to do". We walked twice daily around the neighborhood and often down to the lagoon or tide pools. Close enough to Pahoa to get Pahoa Fresh Fish for lunch, a little further to Volcano National Park and the sweet little town of Hilo and beyond. The beginning of July meant the yard's mangos were ripe and falling daily, and since no one else was picking them up, nor the passion fruit down the street, we had lots of smoothie additions. Every chair, hammock, sofa and porch chair was super comfortable, the master-room bed was perfect (not too hard, not too soft!), and the large walk-in shower was very nice. We appreciated the pool noodles and snorkel equipment for borrowing. Thank you so much for all the nice touches....again!"
