  • Excellent

"This 2 bedroom suite is clean and very comfortable. The hosts Manfred and Elfie are very kind and gracious. The weather was sunny and around 80 all but 2 days of 26. We found the people here very friendly and helpful. We went for a walk every evening along the little old road by the ocean and seen the sunrise many mornings 2 blocks away. A rental car is essential to seeing the many sights and experiences within driving distances. The nearby tide pools, volcano, turtles, zoo, vistas, farmers markets and scenic roads are amazing. The internet connection disconnects sometimes and has to be reconnected. The outdoor shower was great and private and backyard perfect for evening relaxation. The tree frogs sing every night. Altogether, the best place in this area."

  • Great cottage in a great location

"Although we were only able to stay for a short visit, we loved the cottage. It was neat, clean and had a great view of the ocean. We were a short distance from the lava viewing area and enjoyed breakfast at Uncles, right up the road. It was terrific to be able to do a quick load of laundry in the communal washer and dryer. Very relaxed and laid back - would love to return and spend more time."

  • Beautiful house, well appointed, close to Volcanos National Park

"We loved our stay here. The house is completely and newly renovated in a contemporary and tasteful design, has a good amount of space for our family of six, and has all the amenities and supplies a traveler could weigh for. It is nicely situated and feels as if you were staying in the middle of a rain forest: through all windows, you see trees and ferns. The house is five minutes away from the entrance to Volcanos National Park. There are a few shops and restaurants in town, but don't expect much."

  • Huge, clean and in a great neighborhood

"This place is yuuuggee. Yuge! Lot's of space to spread out! Two refrigerators, nice washer/dryer, gads, it's like booking a penthouse suite but with a yard. Did I mention the yard? Loaded with fruit trees -- banana, orange, lemon, lowquat, avocado, grapefruit. Ripe bunch of bananas when we went but didn't have time to pick 'em. If you're lucky enough to come when the rest of the trees are in fruit, you'll have a feast. Location was nice too, close to town but with privacy. Just went to Hilo prior to this trip and stayed at a hotel on Banyan Drive -- for less money than that crummy place I could have stayed here. Unbelievable. You won't be disappointed with this place."
