  • Cleanest house on the Big Island

"The Tiki's Hut house is a two bedroom one bath with a nice size living room and a spacious full kitchen placed on about 10 foot stilts that allow for great trade wind flow all through the house. There were several stand out things that come to mind when I think about writing this review but the one thing that stands alone is how clean the house and yard was. That being said the Lanai was huge with plenty of seating at the table for 8 plus room to move about the Lanai while barbecuing, eating or just relaxing. Then there were the two yards that were kept very clean with lots of different fruits to pick and beautiful flowers to enjoy. It really was nice to just stroll about looking at all the obvious and hidden plants, flowers and fresh food items. Also the full size washer and dryer was a plus before moving over to the Kona side of the island. The host made it very easy to access the gate and door codes giving us a very private, comfortable (and again clean) place to relax, sleep and eat while on the Hilo side of the Big Island. This house would be hard to top in this area of Hawaii and in this price range. A+++++++++++ As an avid hiker, diver and Lava enthusiast I really liked the close proximity (about a 20 minute drive) to the end of Hwy 130 on the Kalapana side of the current Lava Flowing into the Pacific Ocean. Also the Ocean and the Kapoho tide pools were just a short drive away."

  • Beautiful home. Well cared for ,clean, neat, private, with all the utensils, conveniences etc.necessary

"Property is amazing! Fruit trees blooming in one area, others producing fruit-- papaya, pineapples, bananas, avocados, oranges at different times. Orchids in all the trees, each blooming at their particular time. Walking among all the beautiful plants& trees in the garden is truly walking in paradise. Pool to cool off in on hot days. Coqui frogs sing you to sleep while the roosters crow in the distance..A wonderful place for a vacation, close to all attractions. Highly recommended."

  • Perfect Bungalow

"Located right in Hilo and in a very nice neighborhood. The Bungalow had everything we needed and more. The kitchen has a nice stove, microwave, and frig, and the washer and dryer was right out back. The owner even left us with something special on the table. The bed was comfortable and the TV had great channels. We had no issues with any area of our stay and were sad we had to leave. The garden, which surrounds the Bungalow was beautiful and offered a variety of local plants and trees. Was so sorry I missed the avocado tree producing fruit but did see foliage showing it will produce many this year. The owners were helpful in helping find places to see in all of the island, but at the same time they allowed us our privacy."
