  • Great location; exotic little get away

"Worked great for us while exploring Volcano National Park, although I am glad we scouted it out in the daytime before returning later after dark. Be sure you "find" the additional check-in information after you sign up regarding keypad code and warning that GPS is inaccurate, as we did not until we were unsuccessful getting in on our initial try at 3 pm that day. It is a lovely room in an exotic rain forest setting, thank you!"

  • A Lanai for whale watchers

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our stay at The Sunrise House, and we were the first to sign the guest book! The cottage is newly rebuilt after the 2014 hurricane so all appliances are new. The bed is very comfortable. Jeana was able to get WiFi to the house before we left which made connections to our family much easier. We loved the lanai for whale watching, watching the waves and reading. If you love to snorkel, the tide pools just blocks from the house are a marine sanctuary. We walked there daily."

  • Paradise Found

"This property is a one-of-a-kind natural Hawaiian gem. If you are looking for nightlife and wave-runners, you should stay on Waikiki, but if you want a breathtaking, off-the-beaten path, quiet, unspoiled and natural slice of old Hawaii, this place is perfect for you. It was for us. Extensive private backyard snorkeling, kayaking, sea turtles, and unbeatable sunrises. Fresh and organic market and a farmer's market in nearby Pahoa. Absolutely unforgettable."
