  • Great place to stay south of Pahoa on Big Island

"Stayed here at Bali House for 11 days in Feb 2017. The place is as you see it in the pictures. For the price, this place is unbeatable. We sat out every morning with our coffee watching the morning sunrise over the Pacific. Can't be beat. This on the last road on the ocean in south-eastern Hawaii. From here you can see most of the Island with a 2.5 hour drive (one-way). The area area abounds with great natural stuff to do. The lava, the black beaches, the tidal pools, the lava trees and of course, Uncle Robert's at the end of the road. The Bali house was as promised, a great relaxing place. Great atmosphere and a good value for the money. I do recommend it. Nothing bad to say about our stay. Tim met us and gave us a good orientation. Tim and Iliahi were great hosts. Not much more to say. Jim & Diane."

  • Great location and beautiful views

"We were 4 couples who stayed 5 nights and really enjoyed the areas attractions and the properties location and vista, the hot tub and pool. We saw whales, dolphins, enjoyed multiple trips to view the lava flows as well as snorkelling in the lava pools. The owners were easy and excellent to deal with. thanks Tim & Iliani"

  • Beautifull house with all the amenities needed

"We loved our vacation on the Big Island, primarily also because this house was just what we wanted. Plenty of room and close to the beach and tidal pools for snorkeling. The house even had snorkeling gear available. We recommend this house highly."

  • More Than Perfect!!!!!!!

"I can't express how perfect this home was for our stay on the Big Island. This was our first trip to Hawaii and we had no idea where to stay. My husband and I, along with another couple rented a beauriful condo on the beach in Maui which we loved but wanted to experience something different on the Big Island. When we saw the listing for Pele's Secret Garden, our group was skeptical. They wanted to be in a more populated area with more to do. But somehow I knew it would be perfect. So we booked it and hoped for the best. IT FAR EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS. We all felt that there was actually a lot more to do in Hilo/Volcano than there was in Kona. We were looking for a different adventure to add to the overall Hawaiian experience. Pele's Secret Garden provided us with exactly that! Very easy access to Volcano National Park where we found what we were looking for....Volcanos, Lava, Scenic Views, Waterfalls and so much more. We did a one day trip to Kona but there was no comparison to what we did on the Hilo side. And the home was spectacular. The minute you arrived, you felt a feeling of total relaxation. It was spotless, provided every amenity that you could want and the owner, Peggy could not have been more accommodating. She left us breakfast foods, fruit, wine and so much more. She also was extremely accessible to answer any questions that we had. Leaving that home was one of the hardest parts of leaving Hawaii. If you don't know much about Hawaii like us, I would strongly suggest that you consider staying at Pele's Secret Garden. I promise that you won't be sorry!"
