  • Peaceful Paradise

"Our stay was actually next door at Arya's second home. Staying here was like staying with family! Arya was so warm and welcoming, it was a delight to stay here. The accomodation was excellent, beds comfortable, and had everything we needed. Arya supplied us with fruit regularly! A lovely neighbourhood and a short walk to the Tide pools made it an ideal location. We loved the Ahaluani Park in the morning, Tin Shack Bakery in Pahoa, and the lovely people we met. Thank you Arya for such a wonderful time!"

  • Extremely helpful owner

"Found myself with conflicting reservations with two VRBO properties. Deborah was extremely accommodating with quick email turnaround, clear cancellation policy, and a quick PayPal refund. I highly commend her for her integrity."

  • Love this space!

"My family recently had a wonderful stay. The place is very comfortable and homey, well-equipped and FUN. Tons of space, great views and sounds, easy access to recreation, great library with a wide range of material of all types, whimsical decor. If I had one wish it would be to have access to laundry, but that's a mere quibble amidst all of the other ways that this place gets you into the spirit of coastal Puna. Try to stay over a Wednesday so you can hit Uncle Roberts night market - so fun! Hike on the lava shelf, visit the nearby (5 min walk) black sand beach...."

  • Private, well-equipped, comfortable

"My husband and I sought a venue away from tourists, shops, noise, traffic, and unnecessaries, like dishwashers, washer/dryers, jacuzzies, restaurants, and vast living space. Oliana Cottage was all of that and more. It was cozy but well equipped. In one room there was a kitchen area, a dining area, a sleeping area, and to the side a bathroom. Towels, extra bedding, utensils, and even snorkel gear were provided. The owner gave us a map of the attractions close by, of which there are many: warm ponds, tidal pools, Lava Tree Park, MacKenzie Park, a black sand beach, and sites of lava flow (pahoehoe). It was also quite close to the road to the viewing site of the active Kilauea lava flow. Frogs serenaded us at night. For anyone seeking to avoid the usual touristy things, this cottage is perfect."
