  • Great house in a great location!

"This is a beautiful house with ocean view. The great room was large and comfortable and the kitchen was well-appointed. The two lanai and an outdoor patio invited outdoor living. The location is away from the most touristy parts of the Big Island but both Pahoa and Hilo are within easy reach. The famous Kehena black sand beach was only minutes away. And though we were on the rainy side of the Big Island, we were blessed with several days of nearly clear and warm Hawaiian weather. The management was responsive before, during and after our stay. We would certainly stay here again."

  • Lovely home, great location.

"Very private house in Kehena, just a couple of miles from Kalapana, 8 miles from Kapoho tide pools and about 10 miles from Pahoa. Easy to get to lava viewing as well. Spectacular ocean views and nice breezes. Huge family room. The kitchen was exceptionally well-equipped, even with condiments and coffee and cereal. Loved the guitar and bongos. Unfortunately, there was a problem with the stereo and despite the efforts of neighbor Robert, who helps out a lot, we were unable to get it working. Oh, well, had to listen to the waves breaking below - such first-world problems!! Some things I've had at other HI rentals which would have been nice: ice chest, beach chairs and beach umbrellas but no big deal. I really can't complain, we loved the house and had a great time. I would definitely recommend this house to friends and would stay there again."

  • Lovely Cottage

"in a beautiful area. It truly is away from it all -- bring breakfast with you if you come in the evening, or it's a trip to Pahoa. It's very near the lava flow viewing area, and the perfect place to drink coffee, look at the water and the tiny neighborhood around you, and pretend you're retired to the Big Island. :) Be aware that the cottage number is obscured by hibiscus if you are driving along the street. A kind neighbor helped us find it in the dark and rain. The bed is made of magic."

  • We loved it!

"Our small family stayed at the honey house in early June 2016, and we absolutely loved it. The house is very clean, comfortable and peaceful. The garden is out of this world and the frog chorus at night and birds in the morning are very special. Dave is a wonderful host, kind, welcoming and quiet. He made us feel at home and we loved the red papayas for breakfast. The black sand beach and the tide pools are absolutely beautiful and worth visiting. I highly recommend this place to anyone and hope to back one day myself."
