  • We loved it!

"Our small family stayed at the honey house in early June 2016, and we absolutely loved it. The house is very clean, comfortable and peaceful. The garden is out of this world and the frog chorus at night and birds in the morning are very special. Dave is a wonderful host, kind, welcoming and quiet. He made us feel at home and we loved the red papayas for breakfast. The black sand beach and the tide pools are absolutely beautiful and worth visiting. I highly recommend this place to anyone and hope to back one day myself."

  • Cozy, private cottage!

"Had a great experience overall!! My boyfriend got in late after a long day of hiking and the cottage had everything we needed. It was very clean and organized. The bed was super comfy and we could keep the room cool with the fan and windows. The owner was very kind to us. Pele's Kitchen had an incredible breakfast and was only about 15 mins away. FYI to future stayers, there is really no service out there, but we did have access to the owner's WiFi. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!"

  • Amazing Ocean Views!

"We enjoyed our stay at Gary's home. It was beautiful and very clean. The outdoor seating was nice and we had a full ocean view. Beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. The grounds were lovely both front and back. I would stay again and recommend it to anyone who can climb stairs to the home. They are not too steep but there are about 18 of them. Everything was screened nicely and wonderful trade winds were felt. The unit downstairs had a tenant who we got to know and liked. The drive to Hilo was about 15-20 minutes. We also went to Uncle Roberts in Pahoa about a 40 minute drive south, but worth the drive at night. Its a huge farmers market with vendors who sell their homemade crafts and many food vendors. There is a hawaiian band and a bar. The band was great! The home is centrally located between Hilo and Pahoa."

  • Perfect Puna Location

"We absolutely adored this jungle hideaway. The tree house was very clean and homey. The location was perfect for taking in the sites of the Puna district. We soaked in the hotponds, danced with the locals at Kehena Black Sand beach, and snorkeled in the tidepools all of which were located on the gorgeous red road. We had an amazing time and woukd definitely recommend this charming place to our friends!!"
