  • Great house, facilities and location

"We stayed 25 Dec 2016 to 1 Jan 2017. We were 7 in total, with two couples and 3 singles, all worked out well with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. We really enjoyed the less touristy area (as compared to Kona, for example). 'Children' walked to Kehena Beach every day or two and swam when locals were swimming. Without a lot of sun at this time of year, the pool was a little cool, but the hot tub was always hot, great for warming up and night star gazing. With no street lights and no really adjacent neighbours, nights were really dark and good for stars. There was always enough hot water for showers. Towels and linens were plentiful and of good quality. The house was clean. Karen the manager was prompt to respond to calls and texts and the owner Leith was prompt on emails. Karen suggested the Wednesday night market in Kalapana, which younger folks really enjoyed, while the three elders watched lava falling into the ocean, that evening, also close by. Kalapana is close by and has a store for most essentials, although we did most of our shopping in Hilo. Pohoa has a great laundromat and Keaau also has a grocery store. Not advertised was the closet under the stairs, that stored beach chairs, umbrellas, and snorkelling gear of which we made good use. There was also an ironing board and iron. There were upstairs and downstairs full size fridges. Cooking is upstairs with enough utensils to satisfy the 'foodies' in our group. We usually snacked through breakfast upstairs, but ate dinner at the downstairs dining set. Overall we all had a great time and we would definitely recommend Absolute Paradise. • Amazing long term rental!

"I stayed here for several months, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! The property is gorgeous and the house is new and well decorated. The extra beds and living space in the bus are perfect if you have friends or family staying with you. There's even chickens and an amazing garden to make you feel at home! Jason was super helpful and was quick to answer any questions I had. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for several months... Thank you!!!"

  • A beautiful and peaceful place for a vacation.

"The pictures do the place justice. It is beautiful and well thought out. Kealani did a great job making us feel welcome. The fresh fruit bowl waiting on the table and the fresh flowers on the counter were wonderful additions. There were 2 very minor things. First - the master shower hot water is very hot and the temperature of the water faded up and down significantly between cold and scalding during a typical shower. This can be addressed easily and I'm sure it will be. It was the holidays so we didn't report it to Kealani and just dealt with it. We were quite sad to watch the progress of the wild pigs through the property during our stay. They were devastating the lawns and much of the landscaping. Certainly no reflection on the owners or Kealani and we wish them luck figuring out how to deal with this problem. Amazing how destructive those wild pigs are! We would return in a heartbeat!"

  • Has Everything You Need!!!!

"This is a great little cottage that is close to everything in the Volcano area. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and new. It has everything you might need. It is very private so you don't feel like you are among the tourist crowd. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this to friends & family."
