  • Couldn't be more perfect

"Just returned last week from our stay at the cottage with my Husband and teenage Son. This place is AWESOME, words and pictures cannot describe. I admit being a bit apprehensive about being off the grid, but once you are there it just doesn't matter. Rolling out of bed and watching incredible sunrises over the ocean was the best. It is an easy drive to the National Park, Hilo an everything you would want to explore in the area. We were lucky enough to be there at a time when lava was flowing and could be seen from short drive to the end of the road. Like the other reviews, just wish we were there longer. Thanks for the great stay!"

  • Local Person's Review

"We were in need of a relaxing weekend away from Hilo town. Looking for a quiet, secluded location to just "chill out"... We found that location here. It was a nice little staycation. After reading over the other reviews, looked like most were from people not from the islands. Possibly not used to conditions in the area... We did not encounter rodents or critters during our stay. Not an ant in sight. The Management Company handled the pest control very well [as per previous reviews]. Though keep in mind, as in nature rodents and critters tend to roam on their own time. You are in Hawaii, not a major concrete city. Weather was finicky on the first day... It was overcast and a little rainy at about 1500 when we arrived. But it got better as the days went by. It's also to be expected in October. Nicely updated washer & dryer and in a better location. (Noticed the photo of the apartment style w&d in the restroom area.) The management company was easy and wonderful to work with. Scheduled, picked up keys and did everything specifically with Ronelle. Thank you! All in all, will definitely choose this location as a vacation rental, if we're looking to stay in Kapoho again : )"

  • Paradise on the rocks

"There is nothing about this property that is less than fantastic. Like others have indicated, the pictures are not doing justice to the actual property. The central space is wide open and modern with just a hint of beach decor. Nothing is overbearing, it's very calm with a muted color scheme. The kitchen is modern. The bedrooms are comfortable. Lighting throughout is ample and bulbs all light (yes, that's a notable) Here are some spectacular points: The swimming pool. Large and I'd guess about 6" deep. Lovely for lounging and getting misted by the crashing waves on the lava cliffs, just beyond the fence. Pool lights are perfect. The hot tub. Not too large, but perfect for four. The car port. No hot vehicle - hooray. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home on a quiet road with the Pacific Ocean playing in stereo."

  • Lovely secluded rainforest cottage

"We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Lazy Lehua cottage. It is secluded and private but very close to Volcano National Park. Our daughters loved the bunkbeds, and we had plenty of space for four people. The house is well stocked and charmingly decorated. Relaxing in the jacuzzi tub at night with the windows open to hear the rain was a highlight. We had a lot of rain but the fireplaces heated up the rooms quickly. It would have been nice to have a clothes dryer but that would not keep us from staying here again in a heartbeat. I would advise doing the majority of your grocery shopping before arriving in Volcano, the two "stores" in town are extremely minimal, although there are a variety of good restaurants. It is also an easy drive from here to Hilo and to Puna (where we visited the Kapoho tide pools, a definite highlight). Thanks for a great experience!"
