  • Another year, another great stay. We're signed up for next year. Great location.

"An excellent rain forest location for lava exploration and snorkeling. Great neighbors and friends. We felt right at home. Rickey and Kathy are wonderful hosts. See you next year!"

  • Cabin Near Volcano - Awesome!!

"I chose this luxury cabin because of it's proximity to Volcanoes National Park. And it sure was close!! This made it very easy to get to the park early before it became to busy or too hot. It was also easy to return to VNP at night and enjoy the Lava Lake. I would definitely stay in this cabin again and would certainly recommend it to others. It has a cottage feel, but a very modern kitchen and bathroom. The size was great for the four of us (hubby, 14-year old and 11-year old). We loved the large deck, hot tub and bbq. The owners communicate promptly and efficiently. The kitchen is quite well-stocked with utensils and cookware. Keeping in mind it can be cooler at night and in the mornings in Volcano, the owners have made sure the bedrooms have extra blankets to help keep you warm and there are several space heaters. Once the sun comes up you won't need either of these things, but hubby and I were often up around 6 am and were appreciative of these items. (Kids got up around 8 and they were fine.) It was a different experience than we're used to in Hawaii, but absolutely enjoyable!! The cabin is fabulous and the pics represent well what you get to enjoy."

  • A wonderful place to come home to after a busy day at the volcanoes

"We were very pleased with our stay at Hale Hubner. The directions were very easy to follow and we were glad we arrived during the day. The house is very convenient to Volcanoes National Park. We are usually "stay in the park" people and this was a wonderful option because it was so close and we could use the kitchen to make breakfast and pack lunches for the day. It was also nice to have the extra space to relax after a busy day exploring the area. The patio had amazing star viewing. The temperature does drop quite a bit from day to evening. We had brought long pants and jackets and we were plenty warm. If we were to come back we would stay here again. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us."

  • Cozy, comfortable and convenient

"The detailed instructions we received were very helpful in finding the location and settling into our little home for 3 days. My husband fell in love with the place immediately as a woodsman, he thought the surrounding forest was just awesome. It was so easy to explore the volcano from here and not feel rushed to get back to another location. We cooked breakfast one morning and had everything we needed except for some foil or saran wrap, but that really was not an issue, just a convenience. The bathroom was wonderful as well. Would definitely stay here if back and definitely recommend it to others. Mahalo. Lori and Bob"
