  • Feels like home

"This house is great! My family has stayed here a few times and each time it has been been awesome. Traveling with kids, especially little kids, is stressful enough but staying here takes away that stress because the owners have thought of it all. Toys, pack n play, books, movies and the list goes on. They've got snorkel gear and boogie boards along with chairs, mats, coolers and umbrellas. I suggest going straight to the house from the airport to see what provisions you've already got before hitting the store. This is a family home great for big groups and good friends. The views from the deck are outstanding. The outdoor shower is a huge plus! The burger place down the street is the best on the island plus fresh made sushi is in the grocery store right next door. Win, win. :-)"

  • Can't wait to return

"We celebrated our 20th anniversary at Secret Cove Villa. We absolutely loved this home. The secluded location and incredible views were just what we wanted, and the house was very comfortable. We loved the layout, and really enjoyed the beautiful scenery from the windows in every room and from the giant deck. The kitchen was well stocked, the home was clean, and the photos we saw online were accurate. This is a vacation home we'd dearly love to revisit."

  • Private, luxurious, spacious.... amazing

"The house is absolutely spectacular. High end finishes throughout. It was obvious that the house was designed to accommodate multiple families. Just brilliant. Kitchen stocked with absolutely everything: pots, pans, silverware, plates, spices, olive oil... you name it, it was there..... also included all the cleaning supplies, paper towels, laundry detergent, etc. We just had to provide the groceries. Plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkeling gear, boogie boards, sand toys.... everything. And the location is insane. Right on the beach... plus the huge yard. The kids had a blast running around the yard playing during our daily cocktail hour. There aren't any restaurants nearby, but who cares? We bought our groceries at Safeway in Kapaa and bbq'ed on the giant deck every night. Kids playing on the lawn, adults enjoying mai tai's, fish on the grill, and a spectacular view. If you are looking for a private house, right on the beach, this is it. Anahola is off the beaten path. No major hotels or restaurants or condos (or tourists) found here. Just privacy."

  • Quaint cottage with a view — a REAL Hawaiian getaway

"My new wife and I LOVED our stay at Manihani's quaint farm cottage. We wish we could have stayed for weeks, rather than just the five nights we had booked. The cottage is on a beautiful spread of land. Even though the driveway takes you past a couple other homes, by the time you get to the cottage you feel like you have the whole east side of Kaua'i to yourself. Also, my wife and I felt like Anahola, the small community where this place is located, is the perfect spot on the island. It's just far enough removed from the tourist hangouts that you can decompress, but still just a quick drive to Kapaa and Hanalei, two places with good restaurants and all the amenities. One major plus to this property is that it has a ton of gear for the beach — two beach chairs, a couple floating chairs, some sun hats, beach towels, even an umbrella. We were so thankful to find this stuff waiting for us. It made our days at the beach (we recommend the Anahola Beach Park and Kekaha) way more comfortable than they would have been had we been left to our own devices. A review of Manihani's farm wouldn't be complete without a mention of Coco-nut, the dog. He's a super friendly chocolate lab who would come for visits from the host's home nearby. He came and hung out with us and played fetch two mornings in a row. Being the dog lovers that we are, hanging out with Coco sent this place over the top for us! Last but not least, Diana was the consummate host. Her e-mails prior to our stay were super helpful. The notebook about the property — which was out on the counter for our arrival — was very helpful as well. We were never left guessing about the wifi password or what to do with the trash; all our questions were answered right there. This cottage is definitely a no-frills kind of place. But if you're looking for an escape from all the hubbub that you find around Hawai'i, then you should do yourself a favor and stay here."
