  • Perfect family vacation

"The pictures and description can't even begin to tell how beautiful this home really is. It had everything we needed for our family of 8. Luxury in every part of the home. The view is amazing along with so many places to relax and have easy access to the beach and every place we went to sightsee. The owners were very helpful with answering questions and even greeted us! Best beach house rental experience we've every had! The only downside our family noted was the neighborhood roosters that all start crowing around 4am and the continual sound of four-wheelers from the neighboring park/beach access - mostly over the weekend. This isn't anything the owners of the home have control over and we certainly didn't let it dampen our time enjoying all this home had to offer."

  • A tiny but cozy, one-room house in an absolutely spectacular setting.

"I loved Da Fish Shack! I was looking for a quiet, secluded-feeling spot for a solo trip to Kauai. Da Fish Shack fit the bill perfectly! Though there are plenty of houses on Aliamanu Beach, because of the thick foliage down to the upper edge of the beach, they cannot be seen from Da Fish Shack and so therefore the place feels quite secluded. The beach itself is gorgeous--a long stretch of beautiful sand, and a reef about 400 yards offshore that protects the closer waters from the rather violent break of the surf. The Shack itself was as described, with microwave, toaster and sink; indoor toilet and outdoor shower (the shower is enclosed and needs a little work on the enclosure, but the shower itself was great!) The bed took up a great deal of the space, as one can see from the photos, but no problem for only one guest. BTW, the bed was quite comfortable. Essie, the owner, was very hands off--which I appreciated--but was very responsive when I had a question. One improvement would be to have access to a hot plate so one could boil water or scramble an egg. If I ever need another solo sojourn on Kauai, Da Fish Shack will be the first place I think of! I would love to stay there again."

  • beautiful peaceful location, spacious, great view

"the house location was wonderful and the house was great, nice floor plan and great amenities. everything we needed, and more. the beach was not as easily accessible as the description but still manageable, a little dangerous for kids and some adults. the house felt dirty apon arrival, maybe the house was cleaned long before our arrival, other then that the place was great, love kauai!"
