  • Our Private Paradise!!!

"We absolutely loved Secret Cove Cottage!!! My husband and I celebrated our 4th anniversary and enjoyed every minute! The house has everything we needed including snorkel equipment and kayak. The bed was very comfortable and the a/c kept the temperature stable. Everything was very clean and in good condition. Loved having a washer and dryer as well as a BBQ to cook the fish we caught. We watched the sunrise every morning from the green lawn. What a view!!! Easy walk to the beach and the cottage was tucked away which reduced the wind on windy days. Loved all the chickens, 2 cats and one 3 legged dog🐓🐱. Eunice was very pleasant and helpful. Only thing to report is that we were very close to neighbors and did not have view from the lanai. Great place to relax, have privacy and enjoy the beautiful island!!! Will definitely return!!!! Todd and Dawn🌴"

  • Perfect!

"I set up this reservation two years ago. Wanted a home large enough for two families plus myself to spread out, relax, have our own space yet all together under one roof. The beach and it's safety also important as with five grandchildren ages 9 through 15 safety important. Having been to Kauai twice before I knew what areas to stay away from and what areas to look for that perfect house. FOUND IT! The home and grounds more beautiful then I imagined it would be. The beach.......well, it was Hawaii in every sense of the word not to mention great snorkeling just steps away! Absolutely no need for a swimming pool when having beach front that provided all the swimming anyone would want. The boards and snorkeling equipment well used. So many amenities around to keep the kids and adults busy/happy. The historical town of Kappa close by to visit. Shaved ice became a favorite. Property location made it easy to get to all those little hideaway beaches north of Kappa. Heads up....if you drive north leave early as the parking can be challenging at the most sought after beaches. On those days of exploration don't sleep in! The other side of this is how wonderful property manager Jude was to us. We enjoyed her little visits not to mention the pineapples fresh off her pineapple farm. She is proud of this property and rightly so. Thank you Jude for all! In closing I say "Ditto" to all other recent reviews of this place. Don't be afraid of renting this home. Go for it. You won't be disappointed in any way. A great home for my family of 10. My only disappointment.....having to leave. That being said....... the good memories will live on forever. PERFECT!"

  • Still great

"Second time staying in this unit. I am still in love with the views here and this time actually saw a monk seal on sealodge beach (at first it looked dead, but it wasn't). Continued to be rocked to sleep by the waves right outside. Weather also was very cooperative with rain mostly only happening at night. This unit has been upgraded quite a bit since my first visit. It looks like the bathroom was recently upgraded - the biggest piece of this seems to be the removal of the shower doors and tub which were replaced by a walk-in tiled shower. The vanity countertop is now granite. Still highly recommend this unit and trying to figure out when I can come back for another visit!"

  • Quaint cottage with a view — a REAL Hawaiian getaway

"My new wife and I LOVED our stay at Manihani's quaint farm cottage. We wish we could have stayed for weeks, rather than just the five nights we had booked. The cottage is on a beautiful spread of land. Even though the driveway takes you past a couple other homes, by the time you get to the cottage you feel like you have the whole east side of Kaua'i to yourself. Also, my wife and I felt like Anahola, the small community where this place is located, is the perfect spot on the island. It's just far enough removed from the tourist hangouts that you can decompress, but still just a quick drive to Kapaa and Hanalei, two places with good restaurants and all the amenities. One major plus to this property is that it has a ton of gear for the beach — two beach chairs, a couple floating chairs, some sun hats, beach towels, even an umbrella. We were so thankful to find this stuff waiting for us. It made our days at the beach (we recommend the Anahola Beach Park and Kekaha) way more comfortable than they would have been had we been left to our own devices. A review of Manihani's farm wouldn't be complete without a mention of Coco-nut, the dog. He's a super friendly chocolate lab who would come for visits from the host's home nearby. He came and hung out with us and played fetch two mornings in a row. Being the dog lovers that we are, hanging out with Coco sent this place over the top for us! Last but not least, Diana was the consummate host. Her e-mails prior to our stay were super helpful. The notebook about the property — which was out on the counter for our arrival — was very helpful as well. We were never left guessing about the wifi password or what to do with the trash; all our questions were answered right there. This cottage is definitely a no-frills kind of place. But if you're looking for an escape from all the hubbub that you find around Hawai'i, then you should do yourself a favor and stay here."
